This was spot on perfect dialogue. Well done

Very nice. I would have loved to have seen this as an epilogue to that episode. Very much in character for both Tony and Gibbs.

Hey there. Normally Tony is far from being my favorite character but in that episode he was a real hero. I was so angry at Gibbs at the end of it for going solo like that and being so reckless, putting both himself and Maddie in danger, it was really stupid of him if you ask me. I'm not sure that in RL a guy with scarred lungs like Tony's would be able to swim to save then give CPR to both of them without passing out later. Nicely written !

Hi, I found your new story, and after reading your note inside, I wanted to see what else you've written for NCIS which brings me to this story. By now you must be wondering if I liked it: Yes, absolutely!
I appreciate very much that Tony gets a thank you from Gibbs in the end, it was glaringly absent from the episode. But you didn't just plonk it in there, the story that goes along with it is well done, even containing a bit of critique on Gibbs' tendency of going off without the team. Just as I imagine Tony would be around Gibbs after pulling him out of the water. Of course it haunts him. Thanks and cheers!

You're a very skilled writer! No superfluous adverbs, and nowhere did you say "said Gibbs/Tony" (but the lack of "saids" doesn't seem forced either). This was a great read, and a nice way to wrap up that episode. Thank you!

Well done! The episode ended quite abruptly and left it all to our imagination to think about what could and should take place between Tony and Gibbs. The show glossed over the issues at hand here such as Tony's lungs (it must have been so hard on them). There should have been a short scene at least with a meaningful look exchange, a handshake or some words of acknowledgment from Gibbs to Tony, showing he is well aware and grateful of Tony's commitment to him. So you filled this nicely; you had them both well in character and the OS was quite heartwarming. Thanks.

Great job in the first part showing how awkward and cryptic and frustrating it can be trying to hold a conversation with the second b for bastard and not being able to figure out his part of the conversation. Especially liked Tony pointing out about whether or not there'd be a next time being out of his control and being all on Gibbs. Tony deserved more but this more is at least more than canon gave us.

Would it have killed Gibbs to man-up and tell Tony that he thanked him for saving his and Maddie's lives? At some point he should realize that the second "b" is just an excuse to be rude and callous. He goes lone wolf far too often and then others pay the consequences. He almost got Maddie and himself killed by going to meet those men without back-up. If it hadn't been for Tony they would have been dead. There's also Tony having scarred lungs and not needing to be diving into the Potomac. A plate of scrambled eggs is no replacement for opening his mouth and emitting words of thanks.

Very nicely done. Spot on characterization. Too bad the TV writers couldn't have given us a scene even half this good.
