I fell in love with 'The Brave' from the first episode. The second one, this one you wrote about, it my favorite thus far. Terrific explanation of what held Preach and Dalton up on their way to the LZ.

Yes, yes, and YES. Headcannon absolutely and unequivocally accepted! This was a rare gem in that it adds whump that definitely should have been there but does it in a way that slides it into cannon seamlessly without altering it at all. We've all seen addendums to episodes where it's like "nope, not realistic, this whumpy thing should have happened or did and was brushed off here's what that would look like", which are great, I love those, but unless what you're adding happens after the episode ends it's a change to canon. Which, again, I have zero issue with and love to read. But I feel like it takes another skill set to slip it into cannon in such a way that it absolutely could have happened we just didn't see it. A TRUE missing scene. Those are a lot harder to find and I appreciate them that much more.

Now... I also wouldn't have minded this little gem continuing to include Dalton passing out on the chopper a minute later because he exerted himself far beyond what anyone who's just given blood should and because I'm a shameless whump whore... but that's another matter entirely. ;)

This was officially my first "The Brave" fanfiction and I'm so very happy I picked it first. I'm in love with the series and tickled to bits that I've found a author of a high caliber I can stalk to feed me more.

Great fill in scene. It was nothing overdramatic and very realistic as to what could have slowed down Dalton and Preach.

Thank you soooooo much for getting the ball rolling on 'The Brave' fics! Especially a good ol' H/C one! My sister and I (who are totally obsessed with this show!) loved it when Dalton swept in and donated his blood and immediately started thinking about the drawbacks that could happen! So this fic is perfect! Just a tiny bit of wooseyness, nothing to overdramatic and unrealistic, and provided for some beautiful moments between Dalton and Preach. I really love their character interactions (both here and in the show) and really hope we get some info on their history, and for more history on the entire team. I have a feeling that Dalton and Preach have known each other longer, and McG, Jaz, and Patricia's son (I can't remember his name!) before he died all met at the same time when the team was formed. I also love the relationship between Dalton and Patricia so I CAN'T WAIT until this upcoming episode!

Anyway, I'm ranting, but I just wanted to say that I loved your fic and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO MORE!
