Reviews for Scattered Pieces
ancilla89 chapter 1 . 9/19/2019
Would love a little more into Danny's head-maybe him having a flashback, or PTSD episode, or disappearing, as a result of Linda's death.
Great story!
Metcalf1991 chapter 1 . 3/15/2018
Really enjoyed this! It was well written, the characters rang true and it was a great fill in the gap piece during the time of Linda's death. I also didn't notice any glaring grammatical or spelling errors (a huge turnoff for me).Well done!

This was an incredibly well written story! I loved how you tied the two story lines together
MessieJo chapter 1 . 11/14/2017
Loved every single scene/story here. (Literally wouldn't change a single sentence.) You did a beautiful job of giving us all closure the show-simply put-just really did not (both w/ the death of Linda AND the sort of JAMKO pause that the writers seem to have slipped in also.) So thank you. And keep writing these little bits (if you so choose). I, for one, would enjoy reading them. :)

I was one of your reviewers who voiced the Linda/Danny concerns when you first posted this story. A I can appreciate your outlook and sisterly concerns but, your mention of "evidence" has me needing to respond (Please, accept my apologies for not having an account.)

In your quest for "evidence or lack" of a relationship or not... may I suggest that you take the time to research the Paley Fest Podcasts (not sure if they are available but, many truthful articles have resulted from those open discussions.) CarterMaxx is truthful in their reporting and might be a good place to begin.

Will Estes was questioned about his "Romance" and lack of by the audience. His reply was simple, "I'm the one who has asked the producers to not push it and keep it as a tease. I realize that audience pressure is growing and at some point I may have to push for the relationship to happen. However, it won't be this season and only possibly next." I was really surprised when I heard this remark but, it explains why there is no relationship really well.

Since, you do seem so open to responses from readers as per your bio...may I make a suggestion? So, the D/L fans don't get misled perhaps in your story description you might choose to list their names after Jamie and Eddie? That way readers know who the focus is on...as for many writers on Danny and Linda? Not true. Basically, there are two. One AndorianIcePrincess who primarily writes D/L on this site, and secondary relationship to Jamie and Eddie is werks.

I do want to end this by saying I do really enjoy your stories. I'm more of a siblings fan than I am the shippers of either couple. Those relationships are what I enjoyed about your writing.

Cute. I wish it was longer, but it had a good ending.

My dears,

Just a quick note to acknowledge those who have raised concerns with the Jamie/Eddie focus of this and "Coming Home". Firstly, I appreciate the thoughtful responses, and I do understand what it is to suddenly lose a favourite character with no warning and barely any explanation.

One of the first tenets of forensics is: "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." Another is: "Each interacting object leaves a trace upon the other." Please don't feel that because my stories give voice to Jamie and Eddie that I don't value and miss Linda and hurt for Danny. As writers, and especially as fic-writers, we're often drawn to specific characters for various reasons, whose voices come through more clearly or urgently than others. Jamie Reagan and Eddie Janko remind me very much of various police officers that I know in real life, and they are the ones whose voices I can do the best justice to. Plus, being a few years older than the actors, I feel a bit Erin-esque in regards to them: a big sister really hoping that they can find a path to happiness while still staying safe, out of trouble, and doing the job they were born to do. (Also, this and the previous story were in answer to specific requests, which I try to accommodate when I can. )

This is a small fandom in fic-land, I think because of the age demographic of the show's audience. But there are plenty of writers who "hear" Danny and Linda best. Go and encourage those writers! Write your own! Fill that space!

I'll try to get back to those of you with accounts shortly. Come find me on Ao3 or tumblr, if you'd like to chat more. This site isn't the best for proper conversations.

Scribble on, maniacs,

Hi just curious about a story request what if Jamie joined the NYPD instead of going to Harvard and what would have happened
Dana Hale chapter 1 . 10/12/2017
Love this idea of Eddie being there every step for Jamie.
sandyfin chapter 1 . 10/11/2017
Very nice! You're a good storyteller. Reading all the "don't make Linda's death about Jamko" reviews makes me a little sad because Jamko writers are Jamko writers, you know? We write about what interests us, and that happens to be how Linda's death has affected Jamko in particular. There's nothing wrong with your Jamko-heavy take on Linda's death - I love it!
kirbyschoice chapter 1 . 10/11/2017
I always like to keep my reviews positive because I really do appreciate all the time and effort the author's on this site put into writing stories for other's pleasure! However, I do really have to agree, despite this being really well written, Linda's death shouldn't be used as a basis for the "Jamko" love story. People (especially Danny and Linda shippers) are really saddened by this direction right now. Talking about bringing Eddie in as a Aunt after such a strong, Mother figure in this series passed seems a bit like your dismissing Linda and her importance.
conservativegirl chapter 1 . 10/11/2017
I could basically not love this more! You -once again- completely expressed all the perfect emotions from everyone and their dynamics. It's amazing how you incorporate everyone so seamlessly. And I love the variety of emotions; I went from almost to crying to laughing at that last line (seriously HAHAH so funny)
