Well written, suspenseful yet amusing story. Thanks for sharing!
Guest chapter 2 . 10/2/2017
This is story idea/challenge-Troy and Moffitt have been away from base for 3 days attending briefings. When they return they find Tully in the hospital ward and Hitch in the stockade, what happened?
pfrye chapter 6 . 10/3/2017
Very good story. Love any fic that has Dietrich
tullyfan chapter 6 . 10/1/2017
A satisfying ending to an excellent (especially for this reader) story. Von Z accepted Dietrich's description and analysis of the RP and its members, tactics, and strategies - readily and with some humility - or at least some respect. He even cancelled the charges against Dietrich instead of accusing him of "collusion" with the guys (a word frequently in the news today). He (somehow)accepted defeat and did not blame Dietrich for his own failures. So now I'm ready to read your next exciting multi-chapter story. You have to live up to the standards of this story in your next story! Thanks also for including the 2 privates in important roles in the mission.
tullyfan chapter 5 . 9/30/2017
Cute interchange at the end between the 2 Privates. I was thinking how difficult it was for Moffitt and Tully to leave the German base knowing that Troy and Hitch were still in there. Tully even took a long time burying their meal trash...and sure enough there was a dust cloud with 4 guys streaking toward them. Arabs to the rescue. I am going to leave the last 2 chapters for tomorrow now that the immediate crisis is over. Of course poor Dietrich is still in his cell...
tullyfan chapter 4 . 9/30/2017
arg! yet another cliff hanger. Following Troy, Hitch and the 2 American POWs again had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I liked Troy's "feral grin". I loved the interchange between Troy and Dietrich and how Dietrich loved all the problems troy was creating for VonZ. Dietrich also saw the irony that Troy was offering him more support and sympathy than were his own Army. And of course Dietrich subverted VonZ's elaborate efforts to hide the cell keys and enjoyed the whole escapade.. So I'm off to chapter 5 and to see if I can resist the last 2 chapters after that. Another great story. keep writing.

Good story, enjoyed very much. Look forward to your next one
Brosmom chapter 6 . 9/29/2017
I was going to read one or two chapters tonight. HAH!
Couldn't stop. Great story. I picture Dietrich giving the same little eyebrow raise as he leaves the room as he did in the "Touch and Go Raid" when the colonel was decoding "Operation Diamond". This one's going in favorites.
tullyfan chapter 3 . 9/29/2017
and there is cliffhanger #2. Will everyone get away? Once Dietrich finds out what happened, he'll have this incident to hang over the had of VanZ for the rest of the description of Moffitt and Tully creeping along, facing all their obstacles is better and more tense and effective than seeing it on tv. I liked Tully's idea of using the real name of a G soldier on the base to wake up Van Z. and Tully got to knock out VanZ "cold" which must have been satisfying. Moffitt was also very effective while talking to vonZ "like a child". Moffitt and Tully smiling to each other occasionally and using hand signals to communicate shows what a good team they had become, like Hitch and Troy. Poor Tully was not happy that Troy didn't accept Tully's offer to stay behind while the others escaped with the briefcase. (What a heroic offer!) I'm going to have to wait until tomorrow for the next chapter.
tullyfan chapter 2 . 9/29/2017
HERE'S ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR CLIFF HANGER CHAPTERS. I knew our guys would be given the important job of getting the briefcase, which makes me wonder why the guys weren't given the briefcase mission to begin with, which would have caused alot fewer problems. I really liked Moffitt's idea of the using the blankets- what a clever guy. Half way through this story the privates finally made an appearance and said something! As usual, I liked the fact that all 4 guys were involved in this mission; I also liked the fact that some conscientious German had well oiled the pins (?) to the cover for the drain so that they didn't make any loud noises. Of course, I was on the edge of my chair, literally thru out the whole chapter. So I have to go on to the next chapter to see if Moffitt and Tully carry out their part of the plan and if Troy gets to blow up that fancy car he spotted (hoping perhaps instead to be able to drive that good looking car straight thru the front gate for an audacious, memorable escape. Of course I have to go right on and read the next chapter; I have to read tomorrow's chapter tonight.
churchlady63 chapter 3 . 9/29/2017
I couldn't believe Moffitt did that to the colonel! I had to read it a couple times to be sure. Just enough to get the combination and get the colonel thinking about how Dietrich described the Rats. Fair, determined, ...
tullyfan chapter 1 . 9/28/2017
What a happy surprise. a 6 part story from one of my favorite authors...6 days of RP stories., for me to read. I loved the description of the architecture and stairway as Dietrich arrives, and the fact that Dietrich appreciated it. Of course we know that Dietrich was not a lout but a man of honor which is now creating big problems for him."Dietrich felt like a frightened rabbit" - poor guy. D was also upset that this Nazi officer seemed more concerned about the RP than about his own men.I LIKD DIETRICH'S DESCRIPTION OF HIS NEMESIS - AN "EQUAL OPPORTUNITY THREAT: AND THAT IT WAS LIKE "CATCHING SMOKE." (ignore caps). And he was correct in believing that these guys' total devotion to each other " was a key reason why they were successful. I think that Dietrich was a tad bit jealous of them (and of course this is a key reason why we all like them and write/read stories of them, years after the show left TV. I'm eagerly waiting to read part 2 tomorrow. I think our boys are about to appear an d create their usual chaos.
churchlady63 chapter 6 . 9/28/2017
Well, as soon as I saw these posted I had to stay up to read them. Great story! No surprise the Colonel didn't believe Dietrich. Poor guy, he was just giving his honest assessment of the Rats, and look where it landed him. When all was said and done Dietrich was vindicated and even maybe promoted since the Colonel had a very personal taste of the Rat Patrols medicine.
Keep the stories coming please!
