In the philosophers stone when Snape gets bitten by fluffly, he doesnt use potions or spells on his leg, he tries to heal it the muggle way. So that means that he can't heal that wound with magic, or atleast simple magic. Eight days later Hermione sets him on fire. So wouldnt it be excrutiatingly painful to have an already excisting wound burnt? I know I dont want to try.

I am only pointing this out cause you are the reason are started paying attention to these kind of things.
