Reviews for Passion Rising
Anastasia1224 chapter 48 . 2/20/2019
Got me hooked from the beginning. It’s a “Gone with the wind” kind of story to me, but more sensitive and definitely happier. Should have been Passion Fish part2 and 3. I knew from reading Three for three that I’d ventured in very sensitive territory, as rare writers dare writing about Passion Fish. I can’t fathom how you imagined such a incredible plot, so complete, from Lafayette to NY and back, tackling absolutely all issues.
How you can give Malice peace with her former career, coming back to her love for writing thanks to Rennie’s confession. How writing a theater piece can be cathartic in so many ways : finding success as an author in the very place she was successful before her tragic accident, finding an old friend/lover/ partner and again closing that chapter. All in all ending beautifully and successfully her NY life.
How Rennie changes from husband leaving the kids upbringing to her wife to wonderful father trough hardships like Arcadia’s sickness and Arlene’s religion’s excess.
How both of them reflect on their parents, how they finally perceive them and their legacy.
How their love for each other is so so respectful of the other’s supposed needs, when they can’t be together and later when they are together.
How the kids are always put first, how they achieve parenthood, separately and together.
How Malice discovers motherhood, with Elisabeth first. It seemed so faraway from May Alice interests and she’s amazed it brings her not only joy and hope but contentment and true peace.
How May Alice and Chantelle are so linked and wouldn’t want to live apart, but are always so shy about saying so, not wanting to assume the other’s wishes, and how they learn to say what they mean to each other.
And of course THE absolute love between Rennie and May Alice, the one we all wish, the one that gives you so much strength and confidence and happiness.
Wow!

Thank you for this wonderful story. I loved reading it. And it took me only 24 hours. You are really talented and captured their personalities really well.

WOW!...just, WOW! I doubt that John Sayles, himself could have written a better follow-up to Passion Fish! Thank you for a thought-provoking, heartwarming and inspiring tale of love, hope, determination and restoration!

LOVED this continuation. It was like watching the movie. Loved Mama with the kids. My only disappointment was that no one uttered the words “I didn’t ask for the anal probe!” . I’m still hoping for an add on with Mama and Pa dealing with all those teenagers. Thank you for writing!
