IT IS THE BEST FANFIC EVERRRRRR

I legit almost cried when I saw this was the last chapter. I've been binge-reading all night and my emotions are not very stable right now. I need a happy ending so bad. I mean, it's not my story though, so I'll accept whatever ending is planned. Even if it's utterly soul-crushing.

Ugh, I'm too tired to properly praise this, but it's just SO GOOD. It's really well-written on a technical level, with no noticeable grammar/spelling mistakes, and with good flow, sentence structure, and immersive word choice. Like, completely immersive. Everything's well thought out, with a lot of attention to detail, both with canon references and being self-referential enough within the story's timeline to build familiarity with your interpretation of the environment and characters.

The relationship progression and character growth was pulled off masterfully. Everything felt natural, not rushed or abrupt. It was really neat to see how different Grillby's relationship with each brother was, even when technically holding the same position towards them both. (It reminds me of something I read about parenting that talked about focusing on being YOUR CHILD'S parent, not just a "good parent.") I liked that we get enough an idea of Grillby's past trauma to reliably guess at a family death, without revealing the exact circumstances right off the bat, and tied in very well with the main plot. The psychology of everything felt very real and relatable. Coming from someone on the spectrum, autistic Papyrus was a well-written treat that was portrayed respectfully and fitting within context of his character. (Despite not being my personal headcanon, I recognize that he does have traits generally associated with autism.) It helps that the quirks were presented as specific to Papyrus, and not dismissed as part of some blanket diagnosis.

Anyway, I really, really love this story, and some part of me is going to be screaming internally until it finds resolution.
