I'm really enjoying this story, but starting a sentence with "therefore" or "then" is done repetitively, and distracts from it.
also, no explicit smut so far, but it describes them making out in enough detail to warrant an M rating IMHO

Your last comment from Ron further points out why that canon pairing would never really work. Compared to the issues facing Hermione all he can think about is comparing Sirius to Percy as brothers. On the other hand, Ginny seems genuinely happy for Hermione and Harry. Despite her ‘crush’ she seems to accept H&H as a couple.

The Sibling Bound is a good idea here and the connection with James Potter made it doubly meaningful for the three of them.

The talk with Harry accelerates the changes in his feelings since the battle. One thing that would have made sense would have been for Harry to Floo to #13 too, avoiding the Dursleys entirely. Anything of Harry’s or his parents could be retrieved by elf or by Sirius.

Again a fine, fine chapter.

I’m glad to see that the staff will rally around Hermione and her plight. Even Dumbledore, though his support is more for what she can/will do for Harry.

It was good to have the rest of the Six come visit. Ron demonstrates exactly why JKR’s EWE pairing made no sense at all. Neville, Luna and Ginny were a comfort for Hermione, I’m sure. Still it was Harry being there that made the difference for her. Poppy certainly approved and I think she’s going to win some money now.

Getting Sirius to the RoR was a typical bit of Hermione think, working well. Presumably she’ll let Harry know. In regards to the Prophecy, it’s good to let Sirius know, but Hermione needs to know as soon as she’s strong enough.

One of the things about Hermione’s parents is that beyond the facts they’re dentists, we know NOTHING about them. In canon, we don’t even now if Hermione retrieved them (not even a hint in the EWE!).

So, they’re blank slates for everything including their attitudes. As you write them here, I’m reminded of Ravengrad’s ‘Runaways’. Their attitude seems the same without hearing from them directly here.

I wish she’d felt she could confide in Harry, though I understand why she hadn’t. I hope she will now.

I’m glad Poppy heard and is letting Minerva and others know. Hermione needs all the support she can get. Of course, Sirius will ensure she gets the absolute best of everything.

Can’t credit I didn’t review this — or at least this chapter. This is a fantastic riff on the battle in canon!

Bella and Dolohov going through the Veil is wonderful addition by subtraction. Considering the role she plays farther along, in the Battle of Hogwarts, it’s better off she’s dead.

Hermione’s recovery seems more or less canonical, though via a different route. What’s not canonical is her and Harry avowing there mutual love for each other. As a dyed-in-the wool Harmonian I’m thrilled. Truly, this seemed how canon would run until the oddness in HBP.
