And I agree, this episode was a wasted chance when it comes to 'Hiccstrid'. This version is so much better.

I'd be more than happy to run up and punch a Slitherwing dragon if it meant saving my own. It's funny what love can do to you, even if that love is purely friendship.

Although it's the least they can do, their dragons are always risking their own hides to protect their riders so it's only fair that they should be willing to risk their hides for their dragons too.

I'm honestly so close to crying. I was totally caught unaware that Season 5 would be up so soon and after a bunch of shitty exams, I get a notification from you and immediately came to realise that 'HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON RACE TO THE EDGE SEASON 5 IS OUT' and proceeded to trip myself over watching 5 episodes in a role right before my bedtime and essay deadlines. So thank you. Honestly, thank you, I have never been so ecstatic 3

I really need somewhere to rant about season five (personally, I think it sucked). I really wish this had been in the show, it would've made it so much better! This was really cute.

This was short and sweet and something I needed after season 5... I mean - Johann, what in Thor Bonecrusher's name?!
And Hiccup and Astrid are betrothed, for Thor's sake! They were together for how long again? :D Love, love, love... (The thing I really would have wanted to see was Gobber and Stoick or at least either of them finding out about their relationship. It would've been like, oh it's about time!)

Aww! I love it! Perfect job! I especially love the scene at the end. They are so perfectly in character. I can imagine it being a thing that actually happened, even without the "what if" that you posed in the first part of the story.
