Very sad, but highlights the emotional toll having a sick loved one (and one who's mind is going at that) takes on a family. They are doing the best they can for Rick's mother and letting her know they love her.

You need to warn a girl! I've got me teary-eyed and embarrassed in public. This was so so lovely and bittersweet. There is nothing so painful as anticipating the passing of someone you've loved - and has loved you - so much. Rick being the comforter is just perfect. He knows what she needs.

"Rick said it was because she was so beautiful even a broken couldn't forget her face" is such a lyrical sentence, conveying the loveliest of sentiments.

I was thinking it was the same universe with "Rebecca" as Rick's mom. Now if you want to continue writing in the universe, I will certainly not mind. :)
