Yep, pretty much how I imagined it only he'd have emerald scales and he could observe heat in general and use the thermal energy to armor up faster or create fire attacks, cant create strong flames on his own.

From the things wrong with this I think finishing the chapter without even getting to the scene in the beginning really throws off the pacing of the fic, plus this would also have been fine without that scene...
