I love this fic! I love meridith and yondu's understated but steadily-growing romance! And Aleta and yondu's relationship! And Peter's relationship with everyone! And everything to do with ego was both terrifying and heartbreaking and if merideth doesn't pull a "surprise bitch" on him then...well she'll probably live a much happier life but that would be dope as HELL.

I really love this fic and the characterization is on point. I adore what you've done with meridith and I can't wait to see more of all the members of this weird ravaged family.

LOL Awwww~ Meredith kissing Yondu, who fessed up about his childhood, and Aleta is with her husband...it might be early stages. But it's a reunion :D

You handled this chapter perfectly! Reconciliation and the promise of a life together in the future. Looking forward to the epilogue - I hope Yondu finds his way back to the Ravagers and his family.

I enjoyed hearing from Aleta's pov! It's interesting to consider a Ravanger captain who is also a mother and can't help but be shaken by her brief interaction with Ego. In many ways, she brings Yondu and Meredith's worlds together. Looking forward to the next chapter!

So excited to see another chapter up! You write relationships between characters so well; small details like Yondu calling Meredith 'Meri' speak to their comfort with each other. The communication with Ego was well-written, and, I'm sure, brought old wounds and new fears to the surface for Meredith. It was nice to see Yondu growing more comfortable caring for the infant when Meredith needed time to rest and collect her thoughts - another great way of showing their regard for each other. Already looking forward to your next post!

"Peter was almost an orphan," she told the other captain. "There was a tumor growin' in my head that no one on Earth could do nothin' about. If Yondu had gotten there a few days later… How can he cause a brain tumor?"

"He's a Celestial." Realizing the term probably meant little to Meredith, he explained. "They're pretty much the closest thing we have to a gods out here. Remind me to show you Knowhere sometime."

The three of them were quiet for a long moment, until Aleta finally broke the silence.

"He doesn't think of women as tools," she spat. "He thinks of us as cattle."

No one was going to argue that point.

"Excuse me." Meredith shook her head as if to clear it and turned towards the door. "I need to go see my daughter."

Yondu's first instinct was to object to the title, but it was almost instantly replaced with the need to say something comforting. He wanted to wrap his arms around her but knew it would be far more than she could handle right now. So he let her go and watched until the door slid closed behind her, and he was left alone with Aleta again. As much as Meredith's reaction was hard to witness, he'd expected it. The disturbed look on his friend's face was nearly as bad; he'd never seen the other captain look so unsure, maybe even afraid, something he wouldn't have thought possible before this day.

"You need to have a contingency plan," she told him. "I hope he bought all this, but we can't be completely certain."

"I'll keep my eyes and ears open. Always do." Yondu assured her. "What are you gonna do?"
