Nice story, hit me right in the heart. Also, as for basic scrapes and lacerations (cuts): put pressure on them for a minute or two to stop the bleeding, then wash with warm water (and a washcloth if you're fancy), disinfect with ethanol or something like that if it's not a wide or deep wound, maybe slather some antibiotic cream on that injury, and bandage (if there's several too close together for a simple bandaid, use gauze.) Just in case you want to describe the patching up process in the future or if you're unfortunate enough to scrape your knees on gravel.
That first aid lesson aside, I really like this story and your writing style! Thank you for posting this fic and sharing it with the world, and keep up the great work!
