Love this one-shot, how you have made Literati work things out, addressing their issues without it being OOC. Great job!

I am a sham for not noticing this story before at all, please forgive me. But now that I found it I'm so glad I did because its such a better resolution to the last scene of that episode. I always found Jess and Rory's storyline at the end of season 3 rushed and filled with some very out of character moments, especially in Keg!Max! With the party scene, so reading this was such a great fix!it in its own way.

I love how Jess was just completely honest to Rory in this, and how you emphasized his feelings about himself and how him failing to finish high school just brought out all those awful thoughts of so many adults in his life thinking that he'll never amount to anything.

I love how Rory just took the time to listen but also just tell him how he felt, and said that she wanted him to stay. Managing to finally understand where they are in their relationship, and how to Rory, it still wasn't over, even though Jess thought he had ruined the whole thing.

The song was so beautifully written and just captured all the intense and sad feelings when it came to Jess and him and Rory, especially at the end of season 3. Also loved how you wrote in Rory crying throughout the fic and especially at the beginning, knowing that Jess has already gone.

I know and understand the reason behind Jess leaving but I also appreciate Rory just telling him that it still isn't really fair to her for him to just leave and not really tell her. Both of them have good reason for feeling the way they feel, but I still appreciate you writing in Rory saying this, though I mean it in no ill manner towards Jess at all, because again, its understandable why he left the way he did.

I think the main reason behind Jess so abruptly leaving at the end of season 3 was because Milo was supposed to go on another show that would center around Jess in California, but it never came to fruition, so it was just left like that. Personally, I believe that if Jess tried to tell Rory about all this, in a similar way to how you wrote it in your fic, he would've never actually left like that, or that abruptly. Which is why I can't thank you enough for writing this the way it is, because its beautifully depicted and exactly the way it should've been.

I LOVED this! So good! One of my favorite fixes of the crazy mess Jess made. If you wanted to continue it that would not be a problem ;)

I loved it. I never understood why they didn't consider a GED either. It seems like such an easy solution. Great writing.

I loved it. I know a lot of people say that but I really did. I've always wondered why this exact thing didn't pop up before. Hello? GED seems like the perfect compromise.

I love Schism and Maynard, and the lyrics are perfect for them. Thanks for an amazingly well written scene.

You had an amazing job with Jess and his hurt, pain, repression, anger. He is so ashamed of himself and his actions and his inactions - he doesn't know which way to turn. So glad that Rory showed up and they had this interaction. And, hope is a wonderful thing - it helps open doors that were closed before. I am so hoping that you continue this. I am excited for Luke's reaction and Rory using her pouty eyes to open yet another door for Jess. Thanks. More soon please.
Emily chapter 1 . 7/12/2017
Well done. I have always hated the way they ended, and find the disintegration of their relationship almost too tragic and painful to watch, but I usually feel dissatisfied by most attempts to "fix" it. This feels good and healthy, and they addressed so many things that needed to be discussed. I'm glad you had him apologize for the party, since that was such a huge thing that we hate talking about. I always had the impression that he was responding non-verbally to Rory's worry that he was "tired of her," and that he lashed out because he was embarrassed and ashamed, and angry that he couldn't seem to do anything right. I'm glad they're talking, and I'm glad he didn't leave. The thing is, though, I think Jess NEEDED to get out of there and figure himself out. I'd hate to see him wasting away in Star's Hollow while Rory is in Europe and at Yale... Maybe he could still visit Jimmy over the summer with Rory's blessing? She'll be gone anyway... They can keep in touch while they each do their "On the Road" thing...

Wonderful. I always wanted to see this ending redone and you've done it perfectly.
