I really liked this story and I hope you continue it. What I can’t fathom is why Hiccup tells his family so much; I could never say so much about my personal life to my sister or parents. Either way great story.

"Why are feelings so complicated?" indeed . . . Exceptionally well written short study in adolescent boy and girl relationship dynamics. You handle their tentativeness just right, I think. They want to be more to each other but simply lack the experience to know how to do it. In short, I am enjoying this story immensely.

Yet another good chapter. Truth be told I'm looking forward to the next chapter as well. As for Astrid not taking her father's death hard enough, everyone grieves differently so Astrid may be behaving exacting the way she should.

This chapter should be near and dear to your heart because it IS good. Looking forward to seeing what happens both at and after the party.

I think your worrying a bit too much-there was nothing wrong with this chapter. Not all chapters in a good story are full of "bells and whistles" and/or end with a terrifying, perplexing, exciting, etc. cliff-hangers-some serve more pedestrian need such as advancing character development or the plot. As such these kind of chapter help to enliven and contrast with the other more flamboyant/dramatic chapters.

Both the chapter length and, more importantly, the content was just fine.

Wow, admittedly I wasn't expecting much out of this since it's a high school AU and all, but this is actually really good. Personally I'd make some minor changes, like having Astrid be a little more broken up about her father- she seems a little too chipper as it stands- but really this is a very well made story.

Another good chapter. I look forward to reading what Hiccup has to say to Astrid.

I'm curious about this DD character. Can't wait to learn more about him or her.
