Savageland chapter 1 . 5/23 I was stunned to learn Forbidden was included as a top fanfic in Oprah Magazine! Many thanks to kaylabrn for alerting me about that article, and I'm enormously flattered and grateful to everyone who read and reviewed this story. |
kaylabrn chapter 1 . 5/21 This story was amazing! I couldn’t stop reading it. I found it from a feature in Oprah Magazine online which rated it as the 3rd best HG/SS story of all HP fanfiction. Well deserved! |
CopperLamp33 chapter 26 . 2/8 Urggh... loved this so much! This is so unique and fascinating and unlike any fic I have ever read I enjoyed every second of reading it. |
Silvermary chapter 26 . 12/15/2019 Wow, what an amazing, intricately woven story this was. I am sorry for not leaving a review before, but I blame you and your evil cliffhangers! This was such a pageturner I could hardly put my phone down to go to sleep, let alone take time to read a review. I’m going to favourite this, as I would love to read it all again in the future. Hopefully then I’ll find the time to stop, breathe, and leave more reviews as I go along. |

SilverAconite chapter 26 . 8/24/2018 Now that I’ve finished this, I shall leave a review. I have no idea how old this is, but it was recommended as ‘unique’. Well, it was certainly unique. I lived the entire premise and your characters were brilliant. The plot was (or at least seemed) well thought out and came together very nicely with just the right amount of secrecy, but not so much that it drove me nuts. Your paragraph breaks were a little odd at times, often leaving the dialogue of two characters in the one paragraph and occasionally starting a new paragraph where a hyphen or some brackets would have served, but otherwise it was pretty much an all-round well-written story that was mostly pleasing to read. I do, however, have one major complaint. Cliffhangers. I understand from one of your Author Notes that you love a good cliffie, which is all well and good. I like to occasionally leave my readers on the edge of their seats too, but I found that ‘rest’ chapters, as one might call them, were few and far between. While this brings the reader back over and over, it’s also very frustrating for said reader, as it makes the book difficult to put down. Reading at night, I found, was especially difficult as I get up at 4am, but couldn’t stop reading come 9:30 and, when I did, I struggled to get to sleep because my brain was going haywire trying to work out what would happen next. I ended up reading until the end of the matter at hand in the next chapter and stoping part-way through. I was once told by a great author that, unless you happen to be writing a suspense thriller, two to three cliffhanger chapters in a row with one or two ‘rests’ in between is usually ideal. Even in a suspense thriller, there should be rests occasionally. As I said, loved it, just got super frustrated with the cliffhangers and I honestly probably wouldn’t have read it if I’d been told about them beforehand, mostly because I do have that hectic work schedule where I’m up before dawn most mornings. -SA |
PLwrite chapter 26 . 7/2/2018 Enjoyed this very much. Great writing; loved having an adventure w/ SSHG that isn't Voldy-centric. The fantasy/sci-fi elements are great as well. I love a brilliant and professionally successful HG. The minor characters are well done and believable as well, with just enough to update us on who they've become. Minor quibbles: perhaps the philosophical underpinnings aren't explored as cogently as they could be. But perhaps I'm ruined by reading too much ham-fisted romance fic. And I wouldn't even have thought of that if the story didn't tantalize with these compelling ideas. (Power/corruption/cruelty/mercy. Memory/identity/responsibility/love.) |
WickedlySweetSilence chapter 12 . 6/28/2018 he's not taking her home |
Maggie Granger Snape chapter 26 . 3/31/2018 A lovely story. Had a great time reading it. Your writting is remarkably stunning. Keep going! |
Guest chapter 26 . 3/9/2018 Wow, wonderful imagery, and well written. I love the story tells itself and brilliant cliffhangers done just right. Leaving readers wanting more. A very page turner and just beautifully mind blowing. I must add this to my favorite and l love this ship. Thanks for sharing. I believe this deserves much more reviews. We need more stories like this. Please don't stop writing. |
Guest chapter 23 . 3/9/2018 Crazy, crazy aftermath... Wow my mind is blown because I didn't see that happening. I notice I still have a few more chapters to read and still brilliant cliffhangers. Love it! |
Guest chapter 12 . 3/8/2018 I just have to comment as I read this enjoyable, intriguing tale of brilliance. Flitwick, "Not in trouble again, are you." To the boys was great. I had to laugh at how ironic yet true. A bell ring from canon. Brilliant, thanks for that. Now continue the story, I shall. |
