James Birdsong chapter 1 . 9/27/2017 Great or excellent. |
FrivolousFlare chapter 1 . 8/29/2017 Aww, this was absolutely adorable and I loved it! I thought the characterisation was brilliant, the dialogue believable and the plot was excellent. There was a real sense of emotional conflict and desperation. Well done! One of the best Duck/Fakir fics I've read! |
Guest chapter 1 . 7/31/2017 Aah, this was so amazing to read. It was delightfully confusing, and it felt so great to put things together as it went on. And it felt so good too. I was grinning like an idiot at how sweetly you wrote Fakir and Ahiru. This was so good! I liked it so much! |
Vinelle chapter 1 . 7/16/2017 I can't believe this has no reviews, for this was amazing. You captured Duck's voice really well, heartbreakingly so - the "are you eating lunch" exchange was an eerie echo driving home just how complete her regression was, and her recollections were perfectly done - not too overt, but not too subtle, either. Fakir was beautifully done, too - I could feel his heartbreak and love for Duck as though it was his POV, and the dance scene was just amazing. The confession scene, and true love's kiss breaking the spell, was amazing too. Just... all of this, amazing. Squee. So much love. |
Meta-Akira chapter 1 . 7/13/2017 A real shame that this has next to no reviews, allow me to rectify this. Anyways, this is a glorious one-shot. I particularly like how you let it unfold and allowed the readers piece together what had happened, rather than spelling it all out that Ahiru (force of habit, apologies) had her memories taken in exchange for her human form. A very nice case of "show, don't tell". I mean, yes, it wasn't difficult to figure out, but it was still refreshing. And I'm rather glad you didn't start off with her feeling emptied of her memories, instead going for her gradually noticing something is amiss. On a similar noter, you portrayed the emotions of her and Fakir absolutely wonderfully! I don't read many fics that include amnesia, but I think you nailed it very well. Even the little self-aware end discussion with Autor about cliches felt on point, and it was an amusing way to end things off. After all, cliches that are are acknowledged and lampshaded are the best kind of cliches. Congrats on a very enjoyable one-shot! -Akira |
