Awww, this was so cute! Great, well rounded story with a conclusive ending. Selective mutism is the worst tbh. I don't have it myself, but I've had a couple of friends with it. It sucks bc I can tell they want to talk, they want to be social but they can't make themselves. Anyway, loved your story! :)

Seriously though!
I've been reading really shitty ones on Wattpad because I want to write one of my own (multi-chapter tho), and you just come along and make the best one ever! How will I ever top this?!

For one, it has a fair amount of angst. ("You talk to Jefferson?" *gasp!* Oh no! My heart! Ah!)

Secondly, it's also very cute. Like, Alexander is super quiet but then when texting he's desperate for contact. ("Yes! Yeah. Totally cool." LOL, my poor desperate bean.)

Then, JOHN KISSES HIM AT JUST THE RIGHT MOMENT. I hate fics that stretch it out because they're trying to be a slow burn but end up being annoying, but I also hate fics that are like "Hey, I like you!" "Oh cool! Let's make out!" Y'know? And yours was perfect.

Finally, the MUTUAL PINING IS TOO CUTE I CAN'T-
I can just imagine John squealing and giggling from pure bliss while texting Alex, and then Alex rushing Hercules to go give his number away was hilarious.

So, yeah. Best selective mute AU by FAR.
