It nice she understands him better. But Ranma HAS to actually face his fear some time, you can't spend your whole life under the shadow of a phobia.

I'm looking at the manga right now (Vol. 4) and it clearly says that it took place when he was ten.

Nevertheless, I think your story is fine, though I think the WAFF is too heavy-handed, to the point of being OOC.
