I think I read this back when it first came out, or I started to read it and then didn't realize it had been updated, because I don't remember finishing it, and I can't believe that I haven't left a comment before. Truly, that's unacceptable.
Because OH. MY. GOODNESS. THIS IS INCREDIBLE! And it deserves ALL the comments and showers of praise and heaps of adoration for its amazingness.
From start to finish, I was totally, utterly immersed. You captured the characters effortlessly, and completely drew me in with your writing style that made me see and feel everything. My heart was pounding (in a good way!) at various points throughout. This is a masterpiece. Whump. Heroics. Friendships. All of it. I love the way you were able to enhance the friendships between these three, and the way that Matt called out to his friends to stay down after HE had just gotten shot, the tense and intense atmosphere as Karen and Foggy reacted to Matt being shot and trying to keep him alive (AGGGH!), the second attack where Matt tries to keep Karen safe, puts up a great fight but then gets saved by Claire and Karen (YESS!)... I was a little disappointed, I admit, when the next chapter leapt right to a week later, because that had been such an amazing, amazing scene written from Matt's perspective, and I wanted to see the fallout from Claire or Karen's, but then you did go back in a flashback with Karen and that was perrrrrrfect! Everything about this story is perfect. A masterpiece.
I could go on and on, but I really just want to say thank you for writing this, and thank you for sharing this!

Loved it. Wish Karen and Matt’s relationship had worked out like that on the show.

This whole story was awesome! I loved the change in perspectives throughout. I thought you captured each character perfectly. You also had wonderful descriptions that really created a picture for me the reader. I found this and stayed up to read it even though I have to get up for work in a few hours. It was a real "page turner." You had me hooked. I can't wait to have a look at your other fics. Well done!

Come to think of it, why hasn’t Matt and Foggy come up with an excuse. Oh, that’s right, because there is none. Forgot. Silly me.

The hitman cometh. I’ve named him Mitch.
