When you do post the new story, could you put another authors note on this one to tell us please?

Kaitou Kitsune: Reborn! ...maybe? I really liked this story, so I want to help somehow.

Well. Look at it this way, Kaito. The difficulty speaking is also protecting your identity some - Hakuba may recall the babble at the heist indicating KID knows something of that gem being unusual, and they'll probably need to know which gem cursed him to fix it, neh?
Of course if it reverses with Kaito looking exactly as he did when it activated, he'll look like Kaito minus the coat, but that's a hurdle for later when they figure out if it's even possible to reverse. XD

Kaito and Hakuba showing the true extent of their rather...strained relationship. Seriously major job well done on expressions the tensions between these two and reluctant acceptance of one another. They are slowly getting under achothers skin and no doubt Kaito will start to really warm up to Saguru as a true friend eventually. Theres already evidence here in those last few angsty paragraps.

I love the emotion of the characters. You do an especially great job at showing Sagurus withddrawn nature and Kaitos rebelliousness. Though the scene with Hakuba returning to the library seems a bit odd. What possesed him indeed? Scolding him one second ALMOST comforting him the next.

Anyway the plot gently moves forward. Its great that you were able to reveal Sagurus back story even if only in part (I feel like there is still some stuff missing? Like other creatures he helped and such) and that Kaitos now determined to assist Saguru in whatever way he can.

Miracle worker indeed. So looking forward to more. Great job as always!

:') You did such a great job on this chappie. From the emotions that Hakuba shows, to the hilarity of some of Kaito's situations, this is definitely one of my favorite chapters yet.

The explanation of guardians sure does interest me, and I can't wait to see what you have planned for that (gee, MR and this really are ending up similar... Kaito and Hakuba are ending up in a semi-familiar situation. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN? Great minds think alike? We inspire each other's stories without realizing it? Something?). Poor Hakuba's mom... I do kind of wonder why she was so mad about magic, though (I mean, I know it was kind of related to religion in how you originally put it, but I feel like there's a deeper meaning. Or I'm overthinking it), and how she feels about Hakuba's position now. Plus, where she is. You really know how to raise those questions.

And the library scene, oh my gosh, that was so funny! XD Kaito fighting a book, and how Hakuba just walks in there, goes all fatherly on his magical book, and chastises EVERYONE. Nice~~ :P You really do make Hakuba such a likable character, which I adore, as he really doesn't get enough character development/character in general to make you like him all that much... In fact, I didn't like him until I started reading fanfics, and then I realized he could actually be a great character.

Hehehe, I really did love this chapter, and I'm so sorry it took me so long to review! Especially since you brought little Conan in here... T.T I'm such an idiot.

And Conan was just perfect here. You've gotta love his childish, yet very much not childish-ness, and Kaito noticing this all. Sopherin Philo does sound like and interesting character indeed, and I have to wonder just how much of a role she'll be playing in this story. That case sounds interesting as well... A woman who seemingly used magic to kill her friend? You could make a fun mystery out of that one, if you ever got the want to do so. It's awful to write them, though, so I don't know if you'll want to go that route... ;

Oh, cerberus...Just how many magical creatures will be in this story, and will they be playing a prominent role as well? So many questions indeed! It would be kind of cool to see them more often, though that may add an unneeded underlying story that would only complicate things... :o

Then there's Kaito's Hoshi no Tama... That was nice... Kaito got a collar~~ Now all Hakuba needs is a leash. XD And he'll never lose his phantom thief again. I can just imagine all the odd stares they would get. :P

Anyway, really wonderful chapter per usual, and now I shall go edit the next one! So sorry once more that I forgot to review... Kicking myself... :

Mmm let me start by saying the characters in this chapter were kind of...OOC.

Kaito's reaction to Ran calling him Shinichi for the first part is unnatural. Sarcasm/flirtation do not go well together. I think you were going with that he was irritated (due to Hakubas previous comments) but that is most definitely not how Kaito/KID would react upon meeting someone for the "first" time.

In the first place isn't it strange that a random stranger would call Ran Shinichis "wife" ? Yes Sonoko calls her that but she also is best friends with Shinichi/Ran. Plus while Kaito IS sarcastic he certainly wouldn't be that way upon meeting someone like that. Hes generally only sarcastic around people that "annoy" him (IE: Hakuba/Akako and occasionally Aoko to get a rise out of her) Plus you do NOT greet a karate champ like that. Not unless you have a death wish.

Then you have Ran's reaction. While I could almost see Kaito sweeping her off her feet (Because he generally tends to do that with girls) she shows little to no embarassment at the fact that she mistook him for someone else. She doesnt even apologize for saying such a thing (In most other stories she does so after finding out his real identity. Its more in character in my mind for her to act this way)

Then you have Shinichi who is surprisingly willing to give out information to a source he is suspicious of. True Kaito's with Hakuba but you'd think he would more or less want to talk to Kaito on his own/confront him on what this is all about. His overly chipper child like attitude semi fits (again trying to make it so hes less suspicious in front of the Mouri's/Hakuba and the stranger who may/may not be KID) but I still can't help but feel as Kaito notes he laid it on a bit thick.

*shrugs* I dont know, not your strongest chapter character wise over all. Still I do like that Shinichi was kind of brought in here in an indirect way. Also the side note of Jii/Agasa makes me smile. Not enough people tend to make that connection.

Err I should end this review on a positive note. The strained relationship between Hakuba/Kaito in this story is interesting. Honestly there just simply arent enough tales out there where Hakuba is so willing to set aside his differences (how ever forcefully) in order to help Kaito out. Its always nice to see the dynamic between the two and you still capture the sense of "I don't like you, but I'm not willing to let you get hurt" sort of thing quite well.

I'm looking forward to wherever this goes. I'll try and find that poll if I can and let you know my opinion as soon as possible. Until next time!

Yay for Kaito's escape! Only to go back to Hakuba, but at least he's on terms that he can work with now. Good for Kaito. Also, theories, theories everywhere! O.O Hakuba's "My M-" gives the reader a ton of possibilities for what exactly is going on with Hakuba. And, if her survival is dependent on Hakuba looking after creatures like KID (alright, I know he meant it in the kitsune way, but I can just imagine Hakuba having a bunch of phantom thieves in the forms of various mystical creatures roaming his house. XD) why doesn't he have other mystical creatures just roaming his house all the time? Just curious~

So it DID have to do with Sagurus extended family. Interesting. Any more information than that I may speculate, but honestly in this case I actually may prefer to wait. *Shrugs* If I was correct than I'd rather not know as it would spoil this lovely story. If I was incorrect then Im I'm not certain I'd want to know either as honestly then I'd just love to see how the story would play out on it own. So no speculations here sorry :(

Anyway so Kaito's returned to "relative" normal at this point huh? Should make for an interesting life at least. Honestly you have to feel a bit for him though. I mean hasn't he had enough struggles in life as is? Losing his father, finding out both his parents were thieves, taking up his father's unfinished mission. At least it seems he might find SOME closure here if this Pandora turns out to be legit.

Speaking of...love the way you handle the myth there. (Theres an indirect connection to MR here though I'll tell you more via pm if you truly wish to know) The fact that Pandora is a "sentient" gem is very interesting. Seems theres a lot of that going around in this story XD

I only hope Kaito will indeed be "cautious" in his pursuit. Though knowing him...yeah I fear for him right about now. He's already gotten himself mixed up with one gem. Hopefully his "guardian" won't let him fall "victim" to this one as well.

Well anyway love the new chapter. Seems that Hakuba's relationship (read:friendship not romantic) with Kaito is growing. Though whether they can truly learn to trust/rely on one another only time will tell. I really love the dynamic between these two and it stays perfectly in character here which is great.

Oh one thing: Im wondering are we ever going to see any of the DC cast in this story? There have been very brief mentions of their characters, but nothing truly concrete. For a story under the "DC" tab this story is very heavy on MK characters. While it's true they exist in the same verse it still comes across as strange that Shinichi plays little to no role in this story. Not a big deal just odd to me.

Well I digress. I love how interesting the world of this story is. I can't wait to see it built upon even further! Looking forward to the coming chapters. Until then ;)

Great chapter once more~! Kaito and Hakuba's argument with each other on where Kaito should sleep was just purely hilarious! And how Hakuba picked him up by the scruff... hahaha. Now he needs to get Kaito one of those shock collars that gives him a tiny shock whenever he tries to leave a certain space. Not that that would last long on Kaito (he's a master of escape, after all. Though, he couldn't get out of Hakuba's room, poor guy). It would still be funny to have Hakuba get him a decorated collar and tag. :P

Hmm, very curious about Hakuba now. Also, isn't Hakuba always accusing Kaito of being Kid? So why is he reluctant to call Kid Kaito now? That part was a bit confusing for me... 'Cause it's a bit weird seeing Hakuba not accusing Kid of being Kaito. Unless he never accused Kaito of being Kid in the first place, as this is an AU, at least for Hakuba, correct? *ponders*

Oh, Kaito is training to become a ninja now, huh? :P Kaito the magical ninja kitsune... That aside, nice idea! I like that Hakuba has a whole training course to train Kaito on, though that does make me wonder why he would have that... Also, what does that bit of Chinese mean? Google translate says it means "to enter the outer soil" but, it's often very incorrect (have you looked up all those google translate songs on YouTube?), so I'm asking you! :D

Yay! Shinichi/Conan has appeared (not really, but it's good enough! Right?)! And it seems you're going with the movies on Kaito knowing that Conan is Shinichi? Cool. Pretty much I'm just glad he appeared. XD

And Kaito has broken Hakuba's mind (finally!) and all laws of magic. He's just a lawbreaker, isn't he? But, oh gee, he seems like a powerful kitsune. O.o He did already have voices down, though, so that wasn't a problem, but the rest... I guess being a magician might have helped with that too. Though, it might be something to do with what turned him into a kitsune, or just something to do with him in general. I guess we'll find out, huh?

And, I still have to get edits to you, but they'll come for this chapter and the last, I swear! I just have to beta two other things first... :/ I love doing it for them, but I just end up being so forgetful. I usually only memorize useless information. XD

By the way is Kid using an illusion or did he use shapeshifting after the obstacle course? When he ate the cake did he actually use hands (from shapeshifting) or is he actually eating with his mouth but cast an illusion to make other people see him as using hands to eat? (I was wondering about this since I've briefly watched Wolf's Rain where wolves can use illusions to appear as if they're humans; all their hand-related actions such as grabbing are actually them using their mouth to grip the object :D )

Great chapter! The idea of the obstacle course was a fun and interesting way for Kaito to learn. Though Hakuba is making me more curious any chapter. Just what is his real background? Especially that line "The world isn't as safe as you think" makes me wonder what he could be hiding. At first I thought he might also be a kitsune, but then he could have just shown Kaito everything instead giving him guides.
How far does Kaito's magic extend? Can he create anything he can imagine and how long will it last? The police already have their work cut out for them with his new disguising power, checking for masks is useless now, but if he could create fake jewels and distractions at will even Conan will have a hard time catching him.
As a native German speaker I can attest to the lack of words starting with c, as pretty much every word written with c in other languages starts with k in German. The only word that I would think fits is Chamäleon, as Kaito is training to disguise himself as well as learning how to once again fit in with his surroundings without standing out as non-human.
Anyway, thanks for the hard work. I'm already excited for the next chapter.

Ah another update...and very little more learned about Hakubas strange contract with the magical world. Im starting to wonder how long youre going to keep us in suspense XD Not that it matters, makes the story more interesting that way I suppose.

Anyway...hmm interesting. Well Kaitos a fast learner thats for sure. Makes sense after how little time it took him to pick up on the Phantom Thief gig.

I laughed pretty hard at Hakubas incredulity at the fact that Kaito breaks the laws of magic. I mean come on Hakuba... you claim to know Kaito and you still havent figured out that hes absolutely off the wall bonkers? Plus he has already broken the laws of physics on the heists he mentioned, plus the first time they met for that matter! (He teleports rather quickly from the floor where Hakuba was standing to the balcony with so little as a smokescreen) Hes just impossible in so many ways! (And this is why we love him)

So yeah now we see where Kaito goes with all this. Shoukd be interesting. Hopefully we will find out more about Hakuba too! Good chapter author though I wish it were just a bit longer.

Anyway, awesome chapter! Kaito freaking out over Hakuba making that loud crashing sound was great... XD His whole freak out over his giant flaming tail taking over his back... Hahaha. Also, I noticed you put some Kaito pondering over Hakuba's personality, which was GREAT! Thank you for adding that, it makes it quite a bit less of a "is Hakuba supposed to be OCC..." And mor of a "Hakuba is OCC! And for a reason!" If that makes any sense. :P

Gosh darn it... They went to Akako. I just went on a similar route in Moonlight Reflections (now a collaboration between Shadow-neechan and I) without knowing it (offline docs are a huge help... I wish worked offline... -.-). And they went as Hakuba twins... I had them go as Conan twins. You even did the blood sample thing too! DX I'm so sorry! But, other than that, they go totally different routes.

And... Kaito becoming Kaito again is looking bleak... Plus, he's got to stay with Hakuba! Yay! Just wondering (did I say this in my last review...?) but will the DC cast be involved as well? Like Conan?

Also, that spirit thing was interesting... Will it have a major involvement in the story, I wonder? It seems like it might. It does seem to have a lot of possibilities tied to it... *shrugs*
