Well you know I've never seen a single episode of Supernatural, but I certainly didn't have to see it to enjoy the heck out of this chapter. I really wish you'd continue. I've always wanted to get to know those Winchester boys and I'd rather read about them through you than watch some silly tv show ;)

Seriously Abby, your writing is hypnotizing. I know so much about this little family already. I can't even imagine how I'll react once they meet the Outsiders, should you ever continue. But guess what?! I wouldn't even care if the Outsiders ever made an appearance in this. That's not what's drawing me in. I just want to read about Dean and Sam and have chicken a la king with them and hear about their past and how it was to see Wilt Chamberlain in 57 and laugh about Dean loving Julia Child. I want all of that.

Interesting to have John be working the draft board, bringing Vietnam into it. John seems like a nice guy, I felt for him. Losing his wife, and his relief when Dean dropped out, not wanting to go face the teachers/principal berating Dean again, "A guy can only take so much" That says a lot to me about him as a dad. And I loved how he looked at the draftees differently than when he enlisted. They seem so much younger now. And this war is very different. His thoughts about knowing his wife was weakened after having the boys, fully expecting the "slightest thing to take her away" So sad.

I loved the surprise of the car. And we see here that Sam seems to not like change. The writing of that scene alone, them coming out to find their station wagon replaced seemed to flow so professionally to me. John's lost in thought about Vietnam and then "Anyway, they drove a station wagon"..."Dad what the hell is this?"..."or at least they used to."

I love everything you write miss Abby, and I'm down if you wanna fire up this old Impala again and get these boys on down to Tulsa. Just say the word...
