This is the second time I've read this story in a few months, and I had to go to the reviews to see if I'd left one, to make sure I wasn't blithely repeating myself when I said how beautifully moving this whole piece was. Very different to most things I've read here in this fandom and such a joy to read. No doubt I will be revisiting this again, and probably very soon!

I've never read a story like this before! I love the idea of them coming back together after all these years. And I like that Raoul wasn't an afterthought, and that you treated him as the good man who loved Christine and risked his life for her. The writing was superb. I read the whole story in one go. Well done!

Hooray - a happy ending, just as I'd hoped for! To me, it was always really was a shame that Raoul came between these two, also denying Christine her love of singing and performing, and denying the poor Erik the love and acceptance his heart and soul had painfully ached for so many years. But now, older and wiser, they have the chance to reclaim what had been denied to them so long ago. Thank you for a beautiful story! :-) -Missy

Uh-oh... Another DeChagny fuming with Christine over Erik! Her and the Fop's son, sure - but c'mon! Why do they still think they need to interfere in her life and ruin some of her happiness? Heck - neither of them are young anymore: Erik in his 70'S and Christine in her 50'S, and they're STILL afraid Erik would harm her? Time they may mind their own business and let E&C enjoy whatever short time they may have together!
(*Sniff* Even the thought of that makes me sad!)

So far, so good! I'm hoping Erik & Christine's (eventual?) reunion will go as well as it can. :-). Question? What's the meaning of the "2017" at the top of chapters? At first I thought it was the year the story was taking place, and it should've said "1917", but the WWI would still be ongoing. And "2017" is definitely not in the 20th century.

I'm re-reading this story and enjoying it as much as the first time!

I just reread this, it's a fic that I seem to always revisit in my mind. I like that it's kind to all three characters, and I enjoy how Erik and Christine have matured. All your descriptions of scenes, the buildings, their clothing, the way they touch each other both physically and emotionally, it's all just perfect. Your words just run so smooth, there's just the right amount of angst in a beautiful story of people finding peace. It just makes me really happy and I wanted you to know that. I do believe this will always be one of my favourite phanfics to revisit.
