This was a great story!

I can totally relate this with the life I'm dealinv with right now. (But just in Snivy's footsteps instead of Oshawott's)
Also, I really like this ship!

Ohhh Oshawott, back at it with the shameless flirting. It was funny to see Swellow and Corphish betting on it. XD

Cool to see Emolga and Snivy as best friends as opposed to ripping each other's throats from the beginning. Usually takes most a story to make that work. XD

Awww poor Snivy, cause with a case of social awkwardness, don't we all. XD Still her interactions with Oshawott were absolutely hilarious. Poor Oshawott, thought he was going to get eaten.

Man, I don't think I've ever seen this much awkwardness in a story, these two make Pikachu look like Casanova.

But it ends well, they end up together and Pignites loses anothe bet. XD Man you do not make Pignite very lucky in your fics do you?

Are you ever gonna do more poke Christmas stories? I really like those. Good story by the way.

Goes without saying, this really captures how Snivy would socially be in the anime. She's all fight and lesser talk so this puts a nice emphasis on that. Of course it's a subtle cute, fluff fan fiction with some humor so it's a great story. I await your next write.

Wow. Okay, first off, I was immediately struck by how grumpy Snivy was and how Oshawott could actually be seen flirting with other girls. Two things not normally found in your fics. Lol. Plus, Snivy's not pining over Oshawott and wondering why he isn't noticing her. She's more annoyed than sad here.

It's a small pity that Ash's birthday was used as a plot point, then never brought up again. XP Ah well. He's probably busy making overexaggerated faces in Alola to remember it's his (eleventh) birthday.

Awkward Snivy was adorably awkward to watch. There was so much she wanted to say, yet she had no idea how to say it. XD I must admit, I found her interactions with Oshawott hilarious.

Speaking of Oshawott, he, too, is adorable. If I had to pin a nature on this one, I'd easily say jolly. He's an eternal optimist who never lets rejection get him down!

That brings me onto my next point: their personalities. Normally, I like characters to have hidden depths to them, but there was a strange kind of charm to your characters admitting that 'what you see is what you get'.

The narrative seemed very self-aware at times. XD Like, I'd be about to comment on something, then it would explain it in the very next paragraph. It's like you knew what I was going to say!

I was also intrigued by you only focusing on one pairing this time. Unlike Critical Condition, which had eight. Yes, I counted. XP

Plus bonding! Actual, on-screen bonding! The scene where they were messing around by the pond was rather cute and dorky.

More things that surprised me:

The fact that they weren't best friends, like they usually are in fics. You actually said they barely talked to one another!

The reason Oshawott never flirted with her at all. It wasn't the usual case of 'I'm not worthy of her', but, instead, 'I'm freaking terrified she'll eviscerate me'.

The kiss scene. You actually talked about her moving her long nose out of the way. XD That's a little detail that's always bothered me in these kinds of fics.

I rather liked the way Snivy went about it, too. Calling herself a coward, over and over again, until she finally decided 'Wait, no. I'm NOT a coward!'

... Basically, almost everything in the fic surprised me. It was very refreshing. Was this the 'breaking out and doing everything different' one-shot? XD

The only problems, really, that I could see were the odd errors dotted about. Other than that, it was a really enjoyable fic!

I love the premise of this story. Instead of Oshawott chasing after Snivy, it's the other way round. Sounds simple, but considering who we're dealing with, it is a great twist... Not that I mind the oriinal formula, but it's nice to get a chance of pace once in a while ;)

Emolga being the frenemy was a great idea. Kept her usual entertaining antics and mischievousness without her instigating anything like usual. There's a certain... I dunno, charm in their friendship. Feels genuine.

I laughed openly at four seperate points in my reading. Their interactions feel so... organic. Like I can totally believe that's how they (or any novices to relationships) would act. With all it's hilarity. And the references were tasteful, not all up in your face, and I appreciated that :)

As usual, I admire your ability to keep all these guys in character. I can't imagine how difficult it is, but you make it look so easy!

All in all, a nice fic with a pleasant twist to what you usually do with these two. Nice length, fluid and funny dialouge, and a very appropriate ending that was satisfying, but didn't overdo it. Well done :)

P.S.- Do you think the pokemon realize that Ash isn't normally aging? Pokemon came to the US in 1997-ish. He should be turning 30 soon, if not older. And even thinking about it, Ash has done a lot more in less than a year than most people do in a decade. Really brings you down if you compare accomplishments with him...

First off, before I give my review... POOR PANSEAR! Snivy is one dangerous pokemon! Comment aside, time for review. Definitely a very awkward story from time to time, but in a entertaining way. Especially at the kiss. MAN! Talk about the most awkward kiss ever! It was so painful to read the part when Snivy tried to ask Oshawatt out, and during the kiss. I'M STILL CRINGING FROM THE STORY! But overall, that was a great story, and I enjoyed reading it. It was very well written, it was funny and very entertaining. Honestly though, I would've given it the T rating, because of the cuss words, and theCan I eat you" part. LOL, I died right at that part! Anyway, I loved the story, keep up the good work!
