evitamockingbird chapter 9 . 10/26/2017 This is a beautiful story. I'm in love with Richard myself now, but I'm willing to let Isobel have him. :-) She deserves to be happy. Thanks for this loveliness. |
meetmeinstlouie chapter 9 . 8/2/2017 I can't word. Honestly, I've read this chapter several times and...I just can't. I'm sorry. You deserve good long reviews for everything, but this is so exquisite I can't adequately say what I feel. Like it's M (of course) but it's tender and teary and sweet, as weird as that may sound. Even the use of actual body parts works here. They're doctors; they know their bodies and they're exploring each other intimately for the first time. Wow. Just sheer perfection. And you're welcome for the shout-out to WFM! You write Richobel better than anyone, and intimate scenes better than most, including myself. Bravo! I loved this. x |
meetmeinstlouie chapter 8 . 8/2/2017 Oh, you are AWFUL! Just kidding. :) I love how you're bringing them along slowly (kind of). The realness of life makes those intimate moments all the sweeter because they have to sleep (60-something hours straight at the hospital! I should think so!), eat, and care for themselves before there can be anything else. Her surprise at finding him there, and wanting him to stay was spot on. This might sound silly, but one of my favorite things is her wanting to fall asleep on him. And him taking care of the when and how without her having to do anything. That scene brought back a very sweet memory from real life for me. :) The conversation they have about Reginald is poignant, and oh-so-true. She still loves him, and will always love him, and she loves Richard and he knows she loves him too and he's jealous sometimes about Reginald but he understands and..."I don't for a moment believe that one love must end because another has begun..." YOU'RE KILLING ME. "Perhaps she WANTS him to have expectations." The way they dance around each other, feeling so strongly but not sure the other feels that way, is simultaneously understandable and frustrating. But again, it's real. That's one of the many reasons why this story is so good! |
meetmeinstlouie chapter 7 . 8/2/2017 This review is so long overdue I'm ashamed. Though it gives me a chance to re-read your lovely, exquisite, sensual fic. That's one of the things that stands out in this chapter - the way the tips of his fingers feel on her cheekbones; their fingers wrapped around each other in the car; her kissing his palm. You write the small details so well it makes us as readers react. You make us KNOW how they feel, those of us who are lucky enough to have experienced that first rush of love. I love how open she is, that she tells him she's frightened of loving him, of losing him. It is so in character for her to hold nothing back, and I adore the ways they affirm their own longing to 'jump the queue' as Richard thinks. The only time I got distracted was when she said, "Penny for them," and, well, Isobel's played by Penny Wilton, so I didn't know if you did that on purpose. Or not. :) He calls her Beauty. "My beauty." *heart stops beating* I liked how you re-worked canon here in regards to the punch-worthy Larry Grey and Dickie. To be honest, I've never hated Dickie; I quite liked him even in canon, but - well, Isobel belongs with the Scottish doctor with the clear blue eyes. The End. :) "She had forgotten that kissing the man she loves could be like this, that her heart could threaten to beat its way out of her chest." BRILLIANT. "I'm here." 'You're the one I was always waiting for.' *sighs happily* You really do have a gift, my friend. |
ChelsieSouloftheAbbey chapter 9 . 7/28/2017 Gorgeous, lovely, sensual chapter. Sexy but full of feels for these two, because you have them so in sync. I loved all the things, but particularly the nod to Isobel's past, to the scars she bears (and bares) that aren't yet fully explained, and to the reminder that Richard carries his own as well. You're making it so clear that they each have all these facets of their lives that are co-existing, not buried but not always all present (his pst, her love for Reg, the lost babies ...). This chapter solidifies how they'll deal with it all together ... but not tonight. :-) |

misszenobell chapter 9 . 7/26/2017 Oh, THIS ... they are just SO perfect together! You certainly got the 'cocktail of loving/romantic/honest/angsty/sexy/real' spot on! Fabulous work, thank you! x |
brenna-louise chapter 9 . 7/25/2017 Cannot. Word. Feels overload. Oomph. Splat. This was just so perfectly THEM and I can't explain it any better than that. That honesty and openness that they've shared they share still and even more than before, they are two halves of a whole. And I love the bit "Oh, but love is magical when it catches you unawares", that neither of them thought to find this and that that makes it even more magical. |
EllieRoberts chapter 8 . 7/22/2017 You are a bit cruel but also a talented story teller. I simply cannot wait for the next one. Get them between the sheets :D |
