Wow. That was absolutely, utterly gorgeous. The level of description was absolutely perfect - lush and vivid but without distractingly over-describing, and Theo's response to the opera ... well, don't laugh, but it reminded me of Pretty Woman. I've always loved that scene where she goes to the opera and she doesn't understand it but the music carries her along with it, and Theo's reaction was beautifully perfect just like that here. And the line "the thought of those harmonies and melodies fading into echoes and then nothing" is hauntingly poignant. One of my favorites of yours, definitely.
