I'm sorry to hear about your house, my advice would only be don't be afraid to ask for help, while i was on the fire department we often helped people who lost their homes, we set up Gofundme pages to collect donations, we held furniture drives where people donated so much that it filled an entire truck bay. Granted this was in a small community in Canada where everyone knew everyone and i don't know where you live, but still, post on Facebook, talk to people, are if your local fire department wants to get involved, people may surprise you.

Eagle, you have my sympathies for your home. I had my own home burn down quite a few years ago, so I understand how difficult it is. Don't bother writing anything, though I'm confident that each and every one of your readers here would love to get an update every so often on how you're doing. I'll be keeping you in my prayers. But on a more serious note: forget about the story for now we'll be fine, words are are a whole lot less important than getting your life back together I can't even imagine the mental effect that would have I hope your doing ok but seriously focus on what you need and only come back to the story only if you feel like it but either way I wish you good luck and hope you win the battle against paperwork because I know that is a hell of it's own :P

i feel sorry for you, i hope the insurers payout soon though i do know what you mean about them taking forever as i had home insurance when nearly 150k worth of electronics was broken in 1 quick lightning strike on the farm i lived on. to those that don't believe someone could have that much in electronics their was 4 houses there all counted as 1 and thee boiler that did cost nearly 100k itself.
