That was a nice oneshot showing how Beckett changed Castle into a shapeshifter. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Great little add-in explaining exactly how things happened to get Castle to be like her. I loved the part about him having to consent to it three times (I wonder if she had to when it happened to her, and hope you'll write that prequel sometime - pleeeze?) and his excitement over being able to change with her. Also loved the bit about him becoming a squirrel and the fact they actually had a discussion of the merits of being a squirrel.

Only thing that surprised me was that he didn't have to die to become like her ('curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction will bring you back'). Somehow I had the image of both her (originally) and him having to die (or as close to it as makes no difference) and then 'come back to life' in their new forms. *shrugs* That'll teach me to try to write stories. :D

Looking forward to lots more from one of the best writers on here.

Ouch. I guess the only way Beckett could figure out how to change someone was to remember how she was changed in the first place. Must be quite a gamble thinking it just has to work.

Poor squirrels, reminds of that steam punk episode that Ryan came across a dead squirrel shot by a relic of a pistol. 'Squirrelsteen' was shot and a cop said 'aaaaaaw'. Little did they know this subject would get to them. Never underestimate squirrels.

Well this was very good and very interesting. This is definitely a very odd universe but I find I'm enjoying it.

Figures Castle would desperately want to be a shape-shifter, especially after a long time of... coupling. His brain fried and his imagination heightened? Easy prey.
Anyway, at least now they have each other.

This was such fun (as expected). I did like getting the little glimpse of why Beckett decided to adopt Castle in Onyx form in the first place, nice little prequel to this series.

Loved it! Beckett thinking of chasing squirrels in the park, Castle loving the thought of shape shifting, and a ruggedly handsome black panther with bright blue eyes!
