While painful, it would be natural for Rick and Kate to face the loss of Martha together...and you have illustrated this so realistically that it would be impossible not to get choked up from your words.

Like most of the reviews you will get, I too lost my mom to cancer and my dad to a stroke. I could identify with the characters. Thank you for putting into words what I've been carrying around for 18 years.

Beautiful but heart breaking. This hit close to home as my grandmother passed away last year. Her battle with cancer was much longer, but it still hits you or of nowhere when they're gone. And you feel guilty every time you forget they're gone. Watching my mom and her siblings deal with the loss is the hardest part. Their mom is gone. And a lot of sad firsts come along with that. I think you hit on a lot of those emotions beautifully and it was all well in character to me. Great job on a emotional subject.

A wonderful story, beautiful and touching. The description tipped off what it would be about, but it still had the same emotional impact as if we hadn't known. It's so true that things will never be the same, that there always will be a void where that person was, no matter how strong the memories are. You did a wonderful job portraying that, and the balance that Kate can bring to Castle, especially on this subject.
