I really like how you wrote Rin and Izumo's dynamics in this piece; I hope there's more to if. If not, that's okay :)

This was a really nice one-shot. I really like how you explored more into the fact that sometimes the death of a loved one can be your fault, in a lot of fics you get Rin consoling Izumo by telling her that it wasn't her fault, and I can see the logic in that but I like your take on this a lot more because even though some of Izumo's argument is a little irrational (she just lost her family though) there is still a lot of merit and truth to it and part of the blame for what happened can be put on Izumo. I like how you have Rin showing his more serious side here and that yes, he may not be book smart but he is emotionally smart and mature for his age because he understands a lot of deep and harsh truths about the world and even though he has that guilt of living and for what he said and did that got Shiro killed he wants to live to honor that sacrifice.

You have talent as a writer in that you can take such a simple little bit of the manga and expand it more to add even more depth and meaning to it. Personally, I wish that there were more stories of Rin and Izumo like this out there. Not that there is some romantic chemistry between them, maybe there will be in the future, but right now, in this fic, they have found a friend or at least someone they know they can turn to if they ever need to talk about their feelings or just a need to cry with no judgement or poking into "what's wrong". Sometimes the best thing a person can do is just listen and let the tears fall.

Thanks for posting, I absolutely adore this pairing. We definitely need more of this here.

I honestly think there's a better chemistry between Rin and Izumo than the other pairings out there. I could never bring myself to like Shiemi and the way she constantly fond over Yukio. Plus she only became more unbearable with the way she reacted to the reveal of Rin's heritage. Shima's just... annoying at best, funny when stuff happens to him... but still annoying.
