Emocean chapter 16 . 3/13 This story is incredible! |
lmc9389 chapter 16 . 1/31 I’m not sure how I feel about all these twists but overall its a good story. I think I liked it being simply earth bending but still interesting. Seems like the mom mystery is kinda dragging out tho |
rsaenz18 chapter 16 . 1/1 Hope you return to this one day! |
Incognitro chapter 16 . 9/28/2019 this book just...turned into a very unexpected turn...and i'm very conflicted as opposed to the very beginning of the book to now. did you mean to make the main character's quirk so, confusing? like, i get it but it's very interesting. and the deal with bakugou, i'm sure he's just having a hard time adjusting to the main character rather than showing the ideals of a villan...right? all in all, a very good book so far, and i can't wait for the next one! |
scars from the sun chapter 1 . 9/19/2019 Hii This fanfic has a special place in my heart and I would be delighted to read more about Vi. Its appearance when fighting Stain was awesome ! And all the mystery surrounding Daichi's family is really intriguing! And, unlike all the OCxShouto story I find this one to be very smooth sailing. Usually I find the other ones cheesy and cringy but you've made Daichi so likeable that I can't wait to read more about her ! |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 13 . 9/4/2019 You know, earlier I contemplated the possibility of there being some sort of entity responsible for the dangerous nature of both she and her mother's quirks. It looks like I had it right. But man, that super sucks that it seems she's lost one of her eyes... Very interesting revelations with her mother, though. She gets her quirk from Izanami and yet, according to Aizawa, her mother's quirk was still distinctly different. And, yep, just as I thought, Tomura's her half-brother. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 12 . 9/4/2019 Interesting. I've not often seen someone take the approach to storytelling you did in this chapter. Opening up with a grim seen only to soon transition into the events that led upto it. That's an excellent way of building intrigue in your readers. Aaand my earlier question's answered: Yaoyorozu indeed knows Daichi took her spot. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 8 . 9/3/2019 I really appreciate the extra little focus being taken to detail Daichi's inner thoughts on Shinsou as a character. He's like one of the most interesting ones in the series. And, my, so THIS is what was done with Yaoyorozu, huh? So she ended up in Gen Ed. You know, her confrontational nature is...oddly fitting. I've always thought that towards the beginning of the series she gave off this air of conceitedness. Hmm..I wonder if she knows Daichi ended up snagging her spot in the recommended students..? Maybe that's why she's so confrontational towards Daichi. On the other hand, Shinsou seems to have a strange interest in Daichi. I'd almost call it..a sly one. It almost seems like he's just chatting her up to assess the competition. ...Reading further on, it seems that I'm probably right about that. But Daichi's slip up with the plants brought a sense of cameraderie between them, if only in that they share similar Quirks. And man, I love the fact that I was able to call that. And doesn't it make total sense why Daichi's Quirk is so dangerous towards living things? It's not just some plot you installed for the sake of tension. No, Daichi's Quirk is like a literal virus invading the living thing. I mean, look at what it does to her OWN body. And she's got antibodies! It makes total sense why her Quirk can be capable of killing living things. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 7 . 9/3/2019 I really gotta appreciate the way you weave the tension between Daichi and her father so well. Lots of it consists of long silences and stares but the way in which you write almost feels like reading a novel. And again, the way you show not tell only lends an even higher quality to your writing. Like Aizawa's refusal to allow her to participate in the Sports Festival. He of all people would know how super important it is for UA students to participate in that. So the fact that he'd deny his own daughter access tells the reader just HOW bothered by everything that happened Aizawa is. And I'm sure it's largely because of the power that manifested. The same one that no doubt plagued her mother. Of COURSE Aizawa would take great concern with that as her father. He of all people would know the danger of that power based on what happened with his wife. And the fact that the reader is left to assess this by observing the course of events and his behavior instead of this information being more blatantly and directly stated leaves a MUCH better impression concerning this story's competency and your skill as a writer. Also, your clever with the timing with Shinsou encountering Daichi. Shinsou may be a rather cold, closed-off guy, but the two of them now share a common trait that sets them apart from anyone else. Control over others. I'd love to see them bond over it. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 6 . 9/3/2019 Man, I was so looking forward to the part with the Nomu and Shigaraki wounding Aizawa and I was NOT let down. Somehow you really DID manage to capture the gravity of the situation perfectly in Daichi's reaction. I'm really satisfied with how that turned out. It's nice! Man, oh, man, if Daichi only knew that the man responsible for injuring her father so badly is likely her own older brother. Though...I can only imagine that he's her half brother. And based on Shigaraki's ever so subtle hesitation towards Daichi, it seems he knows it. He even diverted his attack from Daichi to Aizawa instead...yeah, I'm sure he's aware that Daichi is his little sister. And see, this is what I'm talking about. The "sins of the mother" theme from the very first chapter come back with a vengeance here as Daichi loses all control of herself to this...thing..whatever thing it was that had possessed her mother. I imagine this is the same being. The story's storytelling is just so insanely good and entertaining. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 4 . 9/3/2019 Gosh, can I just say that you do foreshadowing SO well? Aizawa was about to say that Daichi has a sibling. And considering the flashback, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it's Shigaraki. You know what I've noticed is a good indicator of the difference between a mediocre to good story versus a great one? Showing instead of telling. All the foreshadowing that has occurred so far has done so within the context of the narrative. It's never outright stated. My years of reading have allowed me to pinpoint that as one of the things that makes writing much more refined. Take the foreshadowing surrounding her mother, for example, like the bent corner of the picture. It's totally obvious there are things about her mother Aizawa is not telling her yet this is not overtly stated. It's subtle and the reader is left to discern that through the progression of the story. This is the type of writing that is top knotch. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 2 . 9/2/2019 Omg, you have NO idea how much I'm living for this daughter-father dynamic. I don't know why but I LOVE it when I can find fics where Aizawa has a daughter. I think it's because he's always such a severe man that I get a kick out of seeing how he'd react to his own little one. I deeeefinitely am looking forward to seeing more of this. |
Xxser3ndipityxX chapter 1 . 9/2/2019 I DO believe that is one of the BEST introductions I have ever read in a story ever. And I'm saying this after YEARS of reading fanfics from all over the place. My, my, and what STELLAR writing you have. Do you know what a rarity that is? Not to mention that there's an utterly SHAMEful lack of Dadzawa fics. I'm sitting here barely having read this introductory section and I can already tell this writing will be top knotch. And you know what? That makes me sad when I see that this fic hasn't been updated in over a year now. It seems like all of the good stories always fall through the cracks.. So in an effort to remind you of why, if at all possible, this fic should not be abandoned, I hope you might enjoy my reviews and commentary on the writing that I know will prove to be some of the very best I've ever read just from this very first chapter. |
