OMG that was so good i hope you write more!

Wow, a really emotional fic, that dealt with a really sensitive subject matter really well. Is this definitely the end for this story line? I will miss it and it seems like it isn't quite over yet, Matt must have a long journey ahead of him, plus I will admit to being a fan of the hurt or sick Casey fics! Look forward to whatever you do next.

Well...Wow! Sure didn't expect it to end yet. I loved that Kelly did tell Shay, even though, as I was reading, my mind was telling him not to, because Kelly knew her and trusted her to handle the news with grace and empathy. And I suspected that Matt had surely overheard Kelly and Shay talking. Glad that Matt took that so well, and wasn't too bothered by it. I do understand your reasoning (I'm assuming) for ending the story at this point. Primarily because this could have gone on forever, since there could and would be no easy fix for Matt's recovery. And Matt is in a much better frame of mind at this point, even with the many hurdles he has yet to overcome. He (with Kelly's help and support) is finally being more hopeful and positive about his future. Great story.

Ah, bless Leslie Shay! I'm hoping she'll manage to keep the others away from Matt, at least for now. Facing Shay was big, but way easier than the others would be, because none of them have filters on their mouths or their brains!

Great chapter! I really liked the twist with Kelly's hospital stay. It was so sweet to see each of the guys care for the other more than they cared for themselves.
I just knew Matty pretended to be asleep while Kelly was telling Shay the shocking truth about Casey's illness. He decided that she needed to know and it was easier if Sev told her. Kelly is a great friend! He has taken some time off to be with his little brother until he settles a bit. The progress Casey has reached is quite impressive but he still has a long road ahead. He is still struggling with food and this new coping mechanism of his - the scolding hot showers he's taking - seems a little extreme. I hope he won't start burning himself or inflict pain in any other fashion...Speaking about fashion, I know he is cold all the time but I wouldn't mind if he came to dinner half naked wrapped only in a towel :))

Maybe it will happen in the sequel? 'Cause I'm voting for it too! :)

This can't end. Need moar! Need some warm fuzzies how they get through this. I there's no more of this, can there be a sequel!

OMG! While we know Kelly would never abandon Matt [a car accident - my poor baby!] but so glad that Matt realized Kelly would never do that. Otis is just a little whiny man and very insensitive. The gossiping is worse than a bunch of old ladies! Maybe Kelly and Matt can now take care of each other and somehow this will help Matt but I hope Kelly isn't hurt too bad. Can't wait for next part!

Am so glad that Matt had asked for food! It's a major improvement! If he starts eating normally, he won't need this tube and he'll build up his strength soon.
And even more important is that he stopped blaming himself for the assault. But his issues run deep. That's evident...and it'll take time for him to stop hating himself. When Kelly didn't show up for his discharge, his first reaction was that he was dirty and disgusting and that's why Sev didn't come. That was so heartbreaking! Poor Matt! But maybe he'll be distracted from his issues if he has to take care of Kelly?
Again, loved this update and can't wait for the next chapter!
Oh, and dang Otis is such a chatterbox! He needs to learn to shut up, hehe...but I'm afraid he never will, lol...and it's part of his charm tbh ;)

Hey - this is great! l love that Shay is involved now! And poor Casey when she grabbed his arm! Wonder what she will make of his reaction to that? And what bad luck that Otis spotted Casey in hospital - just typical! l loved the hug Shay and Casey had as well. l can just see Casey trudging for an hour through the snow to get to Gaffney to see Sev and understand his reluctance to see his 51 family yet. This chapter has such a lovely mix of different characters. Well done again! Love it!

Okay, that's definitely an improvement, so maybe this is beginning of Casey getting better. Sure hope so. And, I don't blame him not wanting to tell many people what really happened to him (other than the few who already know). It's nobody else's business. It can and should be a need-to-know-only thing.

Good grief, it has to be from Kelly's lack of eating, right? This is really looking quite bleak for Matt.

Matt not eating is bound to become apparent to Kelly, along with medical people pretty darn soon. Or, he's eating enough to just to function, but still he must be beyond skin and bones?! And of course Lyle Adams doesn't know that Matt equates eating and getting/being/looking healthy as the reason for his appeal to his attackers, so can't fathom why he won't eat. The accident scene was the best thing that could have happened for Matt.
