Love your writing this story is amazing! though I'm pretty sure reading minds is a dark force ability, but repeatedly throughout what used to be canon, it was subtlety pointed out that the dark and light weren't inherently good or evil.

Which kind of makes sense considering there are several species that naturally evolved light and dark force abilitys. And this was actually semi common knowledge during the old sith wars, and has barely held on. Often referred to as Gray or Gray jedi (dosen't actually have to be jedi) They are the very few force users that actually practice the delicate balance between light and dark. The reason why they seem to be rare is very few have been able to maintain this balance usually falling one way or another.

The most significant Gray Jedi that I can remember is Jolee Bindo, he did start out as a Jedi but left the order as he felt their veiws weren't truly wise. he self exiled himself for years and eventually started to live with wookies, and eventually came out of exile and turned the Sith Ravan away from the dark side. He could also always use all jedi and sith mind tricks and sith lightning as well as a well know healer. He was an awesome Grey Jedi Master and was Considered Canon by George Lucas.

on a serious note, I like how your OC/SI isn't a force beast like some of the characters I've seen, and instead focuses on the art of the small, a powerful and overlooked ability. I know this fic is on hiatus, but I recommend reading A Gardener's Tale for inspiration.

The academy does swoop bike training?

Honestly I got a few issues, his plan kinda sucks cause he will at best be capable of fighting a inquisitor. He won’t be able to learn any lightsaber combat nor will he have much of any training. Also the force is poorly done, he would be far from normal, let’s say a normal humans emotions are set at about a 1 for a force sensitive they are at about 50. The level of panic and dear you depicted him to have would have lit him up like a blazing fire for palpatine to notice. Also palpatines presence for force sensitive people caused despair and was suffocating fear is natural though.

Seriously storm troopers had excellent aim and the only time they couldn’t is when they were against Luke’s team which is cause the force guided them doesn’t matter how good you are in the end your never going to cut it when the force doesn’t let you.

Honestly palpatine hardly ever visited cause he felt it was beneath him but Vader had visited before even then it was the imperial naval academy.

I’m going to be honest here if you put forth the idea that storm troopers are trash I’m quitting they only missed as much as they did cause of the force. I also think it would be a good idea for him to travel to places where he could find a holocron so worlds like dromund kass, korriban, dathomier, dantooine, lothal and tython.

Work holes yes but I don’t think he could create black holes.
