I love that this is a POV story as told from Barbara's perspective. You captured her innermost thoughts so we'll ... You have no idea how bad after reading this that I wished it was at least a Direct-toVideo movie so I could watch it. That is how great a job you did of description and detail. I could visualize EVERYTHING! I also love the distinct names the guys call her: in Dick / Nightwing case he addresses her as "Babs"; for Jason's / Redhood case it's "Barbie", and Bruce / The Bat case it's "Barbara". LOVE IT

Is this supposed to be a bitterweet ending or a happily ever after ending? The way Barbara played and emotionally manipulated others with basically no consequence?

I hope there's a sequel for a few reasons.
Once Dick gets over Babs and Jason being together, how does that relationship work? Does the thrill still work when the bad boy isn't so bad?
And how does Barbara handle being around Batman now that they share a dark secret. Do the urges and temptations go away after their last fling in the office?

Sad this author only had 1 fic before retiring.

My heart rate went so crazy through out this read. thank you for writing this and sharing this. Your internal voice of Barbara is what I've had to insert in my own head while reading a lot of good but mostly bad rated M Batgirl fics.

HeroHearth Jay/Babs has been my OTP for years. In fact somewhere on my old Gateway laptop is a pre-Red Hood story of Jay & Babs hooking up before Killing Joke/Death In the Family. A happy ending is never my goal of reading any story. When everything ended with Barbara and Bruce being a not-so-closed door, I was actually refreshed.

Barbara having sex with multiple men in a story is a bold/brave move that I absolutely applaud. Especially when the tone doesn't really give you a "this is who you want her to end up with in the end" move. Based on the way this author handled Barbara , there's no real reason for why she should settle down with anyone.
She's young. She's a super heroine. And a lot of her private life and personal life are similar to what Bruce was going through in his early years as Batman.
Having a relationship with an OC / Civilian for her is just as difficult as Wonder Woman or Catwoman.

I got off (SO MUCH) to her and Bruce hooking up in this because I can relate to having heavily repressed feelings for an older authoritative figure. Batman isn't her father figure in this so it works.
Before the last chapter I wanted her to end up with Jay, but her finale with Batman/Bruce was even heightened because so many authors would have just made it a dramatic "i can't. i love jay" dialogue between the two Bats.

First and foremost you are my favorite new writer in Batverse. Some of your attention to detail is mind blowing and demands reread before I'm halfway through the story. Second off, I'm sorry if I sound like a critic or nerd with this.

In general, I actually prefer Jay/Babs to Bruce/Babs but I kinda like Bruce/Babs more (in terms of this story) because of how refreshing it was w/ the way you wrote/treated them.

There's ALOT of Jay/Babs stuff out there that is very good in terms of writing. But the plots and stories all sort of blur together. Starduskr and BatKate have stories that are almost identical. Both are terrific authors. There's another writer on Archive of Our Own that has a one shot that is pretty similar to one of your earlier chapters.

There's also A TON Of Bruce/Babs stories out there. But they're very angsty or bland. In terms of story they might be ok, but the erotica is bland. This is probably due to the fact that most Bruce/Babs authors have a bit of New 52 in their Babs. You almost have to go to the early 2000s to find some of the better Bruce/Babs fics. And even then they feel like an 60s version or AU version of Babs more than a BTAS version?

I've been pretty closed off to the idea of Bruce/Babs (in an erotic way or any way) for years. But this story changed that. No complaints about the ending as you can't really see her & Bruce working out. But maybe that's why I liked your honest take on the ship even more?
