I don't tend to read moder AUs because most of the time are just off character. However, I liked this one. The way the stood up for their cause was amazing. Also, the interaction between them was cannon-like, which was amazing.
I laughed a lot with the last paragraphs. Great job.

I love these AUs! I can't get enough. Thank you for giving these characters another chance at life. And the story of a librarian v school board is hitting a little close to home for me right now for various reasons. Just fantastic that they'll find a way to fight the power no matter what universe you throw them in. Thanks again!

I'm actually kind of interested in the story of how Jyn and Cassian pulled it off. Scarif County sounds like it's out in the Bible Belt, where you'd most likely get an abstinence-only sex ed policy. Jyn might hurt her own cause because her own status as a single mother could almost prove the abstinence-only people right. Gossip spreads like wildfire in Bible Belt towns- and I'm a Christian saying this. There's undoubtedly some moms talking about Jyn behind her back. There always is in a small town like that.

That said- I can't argue Jyn's style of parenting. That's EXACTLY how you deal with bullies, Lyra- don't be the one always looking to start anything, but ALWAYS be the one to FINISH it.
