Clever! As a former electronics technician, I kept thinking of some things we call GOD, or foreign object damage. It's why we're not allowed to have jewelry, hair pins our uniforms with metal Insignia. I has to be embroidered on our uniforms so it doesn't fall into the equipment. ;)

Had to check out you other stories. This was great! Loved the lines about her losing her mind along with her pip, looking at the little points of pip and then the evasive pattern six she took to her ready room. I also thought, having her drop the pip into his glass was a great visual to the smokey climax.

Cute (and very relatable!) take on Janeway's obsessive compulsive tendencies that occasionally override her discipline (here relatively harmless yet not incidental). Got a kick out of her repeated bartering with herself that was quite the clever unmasking of Chakotay's stash! Yes, it'd be an interesting corollary to see how her pip ended up in said venue. Say, didn't she once lose a pip in her ready room too? And what on Talax was the offending object in Chell's broken-toothed stew?!
