Nicely done! I SO look forward to Cordelia being a part of this story, my number one waifu in all of Fire Emblem with Fem. Robin and Lucina tied for second!

Now that said, I can see Maribelle literally drowning us in tongue lashing for our stunt, logical choice out of the two of us as it is, before giving us the cold shoulder. I mean that's just her way of caring and trying to make us not take a risk that could get us killed.

The night the assassination attempt happened, OH I enjoyed seeing Validar's attempts to kill us become moot. First easily capturing the cavaliers and killing the riders before letting the horses go, then muting the bastard before he can speak any spells. After, immediately wiping out his last defenders before he tried to run. Which we stopped with a timely light whip and reeled him in for Chrom and his guards to take away.

I wonder how Grima will react to this?

well, I have to say Matthew was very creative in his methods of leveling up without any noticing. Yes I find it... displeasing to use such a method to level up, but also a needed one in desperate times and wars are VERY desperate. Especially when you know sooner or later, Grima will one day appear and you'll have to fight him alongside the Shepherds for any hope of victory or survival.

I would've honestly gone the "ignorant" English speaker route to leave them thinking my Ylisse speaking is a rather broken and simplistic speech. Like Tarzan learning from Jane in the beginning. This way I can insult them in English all I want and most of what I say will easily fly over their heads. Making them think I'm saying words I don't know how to say in Ylisse.

It was very lucky for Matthew they left him alone so long in a door with no way to check on him besides opening the door for quick visits. Leaving him plenty of time to level up in his own discreet ways.

Discreet leveling that payed off after breaking free and knocking Aversa unconscious. Before running off with Ricken to take down a Wyvern and make their way to the Shepherds. Where Ricken was scolded and WE get slapped in the face by a worried sick Maribelle. Using Bunker we protected those we care for, but also angering Maribelle as she learned we continued to self harm to level up our magic. Also she's gotten VERY good at our language!

Regardless the final Mortar rain of Flame Burst was truly beautiful and amazing! I SO want to do that to my enemies!...Now we just need to survive a talk with Maribelle AS we walk back to the castle.

Okay, from the top. I have to admit I can fully understand different learning styles are easier for some than others, I too feel I do better seeing and practicing honestly, but I can do pretty good with text too if the instructions make sense to me.

So I can relate to Matthew's troubles as he's learning from Maribelle who was very patient with him, though understandably displeased when he hurt himself just to level up his much needed healing magic. Speaking of leveled up magics, I SO enjoy the leveled up fire, light, and dark magics as elements I would so choose as my own if I could.

I also loved how Matthew handles himself in this fight against the bandits, first taking them out on on one or two at a time when they tried it, but let the first guy go not thinking of the consequences. I'll admit, it did come to my mind to try to scare them off at first as I was reading this. Before I realized at the same time he did how BAD that would be. They'd tell Gangrel and in turn more dangerous forces than he would be aware of me. Like Validar and Grima for example.

Thankfully he managed to wipe them out in time to chase down the one who ran and kill him using a fire tome. Before getting himself captured by Gangrel taking Maribelle's place as a hostage.

Again, close call, but now Matthew has made one important difference to the timeline...hopefully one that won't cost him his life.

It's nice to see Reader knocks on Kellem's armor, letting him know he can be seen (somewhat) by us. Also that demonstration to the Exalt was a rather interesting performance I only wish I could see instead of read.

Also, we're getting along with Maribelle nicely thanks to us having manners and stopping Vaike's belch midway. Trying to remind him of the females in the room and that men should behave like gentlemen in our own language that sadly flew over his head.

Maribelle thankfully found a decent way to try communicating with us to ask if we could ride too! I wonder how our conversations in the future will play out, especially with Fem. Robin or Cordelia, they're the ones I'd love to hang out with and talk to if I could. Lucina too honestly.

Well, I'll admit this is a VERY interesting self insert with gamer powers. Very detailed on the elements though, Zelretch spared no expense on you reader this time.

Though sadly I'd never be able to memorize all of that without taking time and effort of rereading it or writing it down on a guide book or something I can quickly pull out to look at. Or maybe time spent training to get use to my new magic, nothing beats experience!

Reader has done well for his first IRL version of a Fire Emblem Awakening fight in South Town, despite the obvious language barrier. I wonder how Chrom will make you part of the Shepherds with your obvious problem of a language barrier, though he could throw in that they can't leave such a foreigner alone to his own devices with no one to care for him to their knowledge.

It has about a...50/50 chances of working.
