YAS! OMG! THIS IS ACTUALLY SO GOOD!
I thought that there was going to be more chapters, and I kinda freaked when I saw that it's only on chapter 3.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT UPDATE!

But, Something that I actually love about this, is that Jack actually seems like a unique character. So many of these "Aunt Tess" stories are all the same, with this kid being totally pimped out and bla bla bla. Jack, yeah, he's good with a Bowie Knife, but he can't shoot, and he has legit concerns, and I really like that.
That and the fact that he isn't piggybacking off of what they say. All of his lines are unique, and that is awesome.
Can't WAIT for the next update!

You made chapters 2 and 3 the same as the other. Just wanted you to know so you don't get messed up in writing

I think Jacket is beating himself up a bit too much in regards to his treatment of Ellie earlier. He really had no reason to trust her and plus she was with Marlene and given his history with her it makes sense to keep Ellie at arms length.

Jacket can deny it all he wants, but he is compassionate. That soft heart of his will go a long way in terms of rebuilding the world. Can't rebuild shit with a heart made of stone.

In truth I think Jacket wants a friend his age or close to it. Joel and Tess are family so they don't count. He needs and wants a friend. He just doesn't know how to go about it which is why he is so shy. That and perhaps it's because of his blood soaked history.

This was a good chapter. The sole purpose being for the two to bond and to give us a more in depth look at Jacket and his mindset. Keep up the good work and God bless.

I'll answer the AN first before I review. I venture almost everywhere. Besides I love this game to death. I'm a little surprised you updated this story with two chapters so quickly. I ain't complaining though.

Review time. Glad you fleshed the three out a little more and gave us a better dynamic regarding their relationships. I also really liked how you made them team and gave them roles to play instead of just following each other around. It shows just how smart and how much they trust each other.

Son of Samedi eh? Curious as to what that means and how he got it, but no need to rush that. Given what happened to his mom it makes sense now why he is so protective of Tess and why Tess is the same way. I too would do what I could for the last of my family. It also makes sense now why Tess is so hard on him about cursing. It's not him being her nephew. It's about honoring her sister in whatever she can. I can respect that.

I could speculate all day long about Jacket, Ellie and Marleen but that can wait. Can't to see how Jacket and Ellie interact. Well onward to chapter three.

I really like your story. And I was relieved to see that it is a new story that has been recently updated. Most of these stories are really good and then I see it end abruptly, so I check when it was last updated and, "Oh, it was last updated in 2013... For fuck sake!"
