To clarify: This fic is awesome and doesn't need anything to make it better. It's a great account of a strong bond of friendship and exploring emotions and backstory more deeply than they (could) go in the show.
HOWEVER
My inner shipper LOVES the little details here-them sharing a bed, the way Dakota hugs Cavendish, Cavendish making hot chocolate for Dakota, etc. If you don't ship it, fine, you don't have to, BUT if you do ship it, or at least don't mind the pairing, I would strongly encourage you to explore it in future fics. Just saying, you could write it really well.

I also like the idea of Dakota being Cavendish's superior, but that DOES seem like the kind of thing that Dakota would only use against Cavendish in extreme situations such as the one in the story. Good job :)

There's a possibility that Vinnie has more experience in the business than Balthasar, seeing that the former may have averted the Mississippi Purchase before being stuck on pistachio duty. Balth, on the other hand, seems to have done nothing else than pistachio-based missions, while having joined the agency to save the world, and getting upset when he learned the reason why he's treated like this (Vinnie just kind of rolled with it). It's nice to have this sort of thing explored in fanfiction, or heck, in actual episodes.

I think Balthazar has a huge inferiority complex when it comes to being a time traveler. He has the gadgets, he has the age, the proper outfit, so at first glance people would naturally think he's the senior agent, right? Wrong.

OMG... Why isn't something like this happening in the show?poor Vinnie can't wait for the next chappie!
