scrumptiousinternetllama chapter 1 . 4/30/2017 I love how you used colour to show that they found their soulmates. It's tragic that James was in love with Lily and even stayed away from his own soulmate to be with her, only to have her leave him as soon as she found hers. Remus' reaction to pretty much everything in this fic was exactly what I would have imagined; it was perfectly in character. One piece of imagery that I thought was especially lovely was when Lily left Remus with her hair trailing like a flame. The part in italics was also brilliant. Great use of flashback and showing the friendship between James and Remus. The way you ended this was also lovely; great job! |
The Crownless Queen chapter 1 . 4/29/2017 I don't think I can forgive you for breaking up my OTP (or at least the closest thing I have to one in the HP fandom :p) but this was still lovely. I really love unconventional soulmates stories, and I loved how this explored what might happen when two people are in a relationship but aren't soulmates and they meet their soulmates then :) And I liked your interactions between Remus and Lily, and I guess I can see how James would have a hard time letting go of Lily. It was interesting to see this darker side of his character :) Nice story ;) Cheers! |
NeonDomino chapter 1 . 4/28/2017 So I was slightly wary upon seeing the pairing and the title, thinking this story was going to go completely different to what I was going to read. I'm glad it wasn't what I expected. I like that nothing happened between them in this fic - yes, they are soulmates, but they did the right thing and Lily went to James before anything could happen. I feel like James reaction - though harsh - was fitting. The love of his life that he said he could give up, he found he couldn't do it. He shunned his own soulmate for Lily and then Lily was ready to give him up for her soulmate. I can see why that hurt him so much: because he must have expected Lily to fight against her own soulmate too. I like Remus' reaction - close to the canon Remus we see, though a lot more accepting (which I can imagine younger Remus to be - I think he was like this before losing everyone) as he's willing to give Lily a chance though he doesn't want to hurt her - he has this internal battle and he knows that someone is going to get hurt no matter what. Great story. I like that they didn't just jump into things after James, they set a date in the future to give things a try. |
public static void chapter 1 . 4/6/2017 This isn't at all how I imagine Lily being, but it's a great characterization that stayed constant throughout the whole fic. I enjoyed, more than anything else, that you had Lily traveling instead of staying with Remus just because they are soulmates. Also, having her doing it not only to get over James but also just because she wants it is great. I think James could have been more fleshed out, but I get that he is only in the sidelines in this story. Still, his confrontation with Remus is true to what canon shows of him. I loved the situation in general, and even more than you had them acting like real people and not dramatic lovebirds. |
HP Slash Luv chapter 1 . 3/28/2017 I know this was part of the collection, but I decided to review it here. Thank you for writing this for me. I love soulmate!AUs, and I liked your spin on how people find their soulmates. Although I thought James' action was pretty realistic, I wish he could have been just a bit more concerned about what Remus and Lily might be going through. His single-minded focus on himself made him more three dimensional, though, so that's a plus. I loved the fact that they're not rushing things and they'll have some time apart to sort through everything in their head. Great one-shot. |

m22yuri chapter 1 . 3/21/2017 Very good story. But please put scene divider. If you did, just so you know that it doesnt work in the mobile app. Other than that minor thing, this story is very interesting. Good job |
