Wow, this whole story was well done, I only wish Kirito was a little more in character. Remember what he is like whenever someone in his party dies? It could be way more realistic if after Gandalf fell he started distancing himself even more, though he still goes with the fellowship. Then after Boromir died the others forced out the story of why he doesn't like playing with others, and the story of Asuna.

Kirito's presence should have changed something. Without such a difference, he might as well have not been there. Why didn't Frodo ask him to bear the ring since he knew it didn't affect Kirito? Why did it take so long for help to reach Boromir (sp?) if one more person had been fighting the same number of enemies? Sure you might be afraid to change the original story, but isn't that the point of fanfiction? I love this idea, but your execution doesn't do it justice.

dang. you write very well and it helps that I enjoy story's where the main character ends up on his own in other places. like the opinion of most the other reviews however I do believe that with the new character there also be a change in the story of the fellowship. but if the beginning is any indication you've already realized this as well so I have somthing to look forward to. good luck
