Killian is changing isn’t he? He is helping young Wendy and Michael and Henry. He is seeking help from the dagger when he needs to shut the darkness out. He is thoughtful of Emma and her tolerance for life on his ship.

He is fighting for his own life though if he continues to fight the darkness. How long can he hold it away before it crushes him? Or forces him to crush something? I worry he will falter and do something that can’t be undone. Henry brings me hope. He has accepted Killian and is positive and encouraging. He’s already helped Killian with the burden of the darkness.

I’m worried about Regina and how Killian can fulfill his debt to Emma. What happens if he kills Regina? I’m worried for Emma’s reaction now that she knows Killian set Regina free. What will she think of the picture of Henry?

This is excellent. The images of dreams and visions, the wolf, the darkness like a snake around Killian, the memories of Liam and Milah, all so moving. I love the horse Dilis and it’s sensitivity to Killian and Henry and Emma. The memories of Liam writing poetry and the respect and love they shared were wonderful. Thank you for coming back to this, it is very good.

This is very good. Emma's conflict of emotion was written very well. She is angry, she feels betrayed and she is struggling to find peace. I thought it was good she found some degree of understanding of Regina. That has to be a step forward. I liked that she was thinking of her family and their belief in hope and doing the right thing.

An origin story! Wonderfully written. The changes in humanity as time moves on. Merlin as he loses hope.

Thanks for continuing, looking forward to Killian's return to the ship.

I thought it was great that Killian healed Henry, nice twist.

Oh my! How will Killian react to the news that Emma has a son? It could go either way as he fights the darkness within him. He may understand Emma better and appreciate her circumstances and he may want to help. Or he may think she came to him under false pretenses by not telling him the whole truth. Fascinating.

This was a great chapter. I love Killian's interactions with the horse and his kindness to Michael. I thought Regina was well written. She is a user with an angle for what she wants. What does she want from Killian now? I laughed at his reference to 'quaffed and cranky'. That was so clever!

Emma's discoveries in the hold of the ship are so sad. He's had a very sad life. So yes he turned to revenge and darkness but he didn't have anyone to offer love and hope. Maybe with Emma in his life he can see a better way. But how? He is the Dark One. Emma may now feel betrayed and that will challenge his control. Enjoying this, thank you for continuing, looking forward to the rest.

It's interesting that the darkness is scared of Emma. Does it realize that she may have the power to break it's hold on Killian?

Killian's reaction to the little boy in the stable was sweet. I'm guessing Michael reminded him of when he and Liam were young and forced into slavery.

I didn't realize that Killian didn't know Emma had a son. I wonder what he will do now that he knows. I don't think he will want to keep Emma from her child.

I'm happy to see an update to this story! It's such a unique plot.

I was really shocked by the twist at the end! I never would have guessed that Killian's DO deal with Regina ultimately is what led Emma to make a deal with him.

Welcome back and thank you for this lovely long chapter. I have missed this story.

Both Killian and Emma are in significant, change the path you are on kind of moments. Killian is obligated to Emma to defeat Regina. But he has worked with Regina in the past. Regina will manipulate and maneuver him. Emma has learned that Killian freed Regina, very recently, which allowed Regina to capture her family. What will Emma think of Killian now, though there is the contract, will she lose trust? He needs her trust and faith to fight his battle against the Dark One.

I think this is a very good story and I hope you can continue. The journals were wonderful, heartbreaking and meaningful. I hope Emma can process all the pain Killian has experienced in his life, and his regret over so many of his own decisions. It's good to see her new experiences changing her, creating some independence. There is the mention that Killian killed the Dark One on a particular night. Is that something to play out in the future? And I think Henry is Milah's grandson. Will Killian realize that? Is Henry's father dead? Looking forward to the rest.

Glad to see another chapter. I think it's cool that Emma found a lot book with writing about Milah and the picture of Liam. Maybe it will help her understand him better. I can't wait to see more of her reaction to the news at the end
