I'm liking a lot of this changes. What brings me doubt is how this Erik seems innocent from the murders in the book. It would mean this Erik really is able to love normally, without his constant mania-like dispair which constantly meddled in the way of a somewhat-normal mind of a person hiding from society below an opera house. I'm now really interested in this hidden antagonist that haunts the Opera Ghost. I shall await with gusto. Have a good day!

I felt that Philippe's characterisation is a bit off in this chapter - he was amiable and jovial, if rather superficial, in earlier chapters, but to make a sudden leap to lecherous and criminal stretched the imagination.

Oh my! This story is really heating up. I never expected Armel to due. It really humanizes the victims of the chandelier attack and we do see Erik from the other side- as fans we tend to fall for Erik’s delusions as much as he does. Lisette is perfectly justified in her anger, and is taking her assault by the Comte fairly well- then again she’s always been resilient. I wonder if his fate is still sealed to die as he does in the book.

Also now that line in Notes II is a punch to the gut: “Dear Andre read my orchestrations, we need another first bassoon...” no one could replace Armel so he wants the new one sacked

May I say, I've been away for quite some time. To come back to FF and find these 26 beautiful chapters waiting was a godsend (this quarantine is certainly taking its toll, Im afraid), and I cant tell you how much I want to see the next piece! I do try to pace my reading, but I couldn't help myself not to eat this up completely. I love that the characters aren't perfect, they have depth in their personalities, I love the blending of Kay/Leroux and ALW, and I love that Lisette has had more of a journey between conflicts and interests in characters to give twists. Very well done! Thank you for writing this, and I hope for its continuation soon.

Of course you made a heart-warming chapter in the cold of christmas! I really liked how there was a way for Erik to show his face without having a nervous break-down. Also the meaning of music between them that seems to take away some misunderstandings that could offend each other. Please, keep writing. :)

Ah this is so beautiful! I love Erik and Lisette’s interaction, especially that last line about how singing Schumann would mean more to him than to the count. Also I love that Erik and Lisette have a relationship between equals. Erik and Christine were bound by the music too but Lisette can understand him on a deeper level through their shared trauma. I liked that Erik chose to reveal his face to her and it was all very mature and level headed. And the Christmas moments were so cute

This story is fantastic I love how you’ve stayed so close to the novel but created your own rich interpretation of the universe. Also I love Lisette’s character she’s so likable and intelligent- and I like her friendships with Meg and Armel. It’s nice to see another side of the Opera Garnier besides the chorus. It’s unique and your prose is great. I’m already deeply invested in this story, you deserve so much love for it

Amazing chapters! I'm each time more surprised with how you move the story! I know you are trying to let the characters act, but this seems really natural from your words. Even more, you make our protagonists more charming with each scene, even avoiding other things in the book with better results! I really hope to see this story complete! I know it shall surprise and bewitch me.

I am becoming attached to Lisette, and I am dreading the day where Christine takes her place. I think Lisette is a much better character than Christine could hope to be. Very excited for more!
