Reviews for Ghosts and Heroes
BlackDaffodil17 chapter 9 . 4/24
Oh wow, Ive never seen a writer mention prison culture. And youre absolutely right, people who have done something to pregnant women, children or a terrorist attack usually dont last long in the general population. its not uncommon for a guard to "accidentally" leave out a piece of paper pertaining to an inmates crime for someone to see, I like how Danny mentioned that.

DaniMason chapter 10 . 5/30/2019
I do have one question. What happened with Danielle? Other than that I keep finding myself coming back to this story. I just love it. It makes me sad that his parents couldn't have ever accepted him in this story. I am glad though he has found others that love and support him. This is one of my favorite fanfictions of all time. This I am sure is my favorite abuse fanfiction.

Can’t really imagine Danny’s father like that. Max he wouldn’t speak with Danny.
Phoenix-Inferno18 chapter 10 . 2/22/2018
I like how deep this story was. It wasn’t rainbows and kittens but it was certainly interesting! I totally agree with what you did with Gaz, people can be changed by events like that.
LK2 chapter 10 . 1/16/2018

Minoette chapter 10 . 11/15/2017
I gotta say, this was actually a lot better than I thought it'd be. After the warnings in the summary, I was worried that the angst would go overboard, but it didn't. Once the story got going, it was great.

With Danny, Sam, and Tucker it was clear that they were just kids who were way out of their depth, but the weren't annoyingly immature. I think Jazz was believable as well, to an extent. She was young, mourning, and in a tough situation. Most people don't really realize just how hard it is to step up when someone they've loved and trusted their entire lives turns out to be so horrible until they've been there. And then, well, the longer you stay away from problems the harder they are to face. I can definitely see someone like Jazz, who likes to think of herself as emotionally responsible and stable, would find herself overwhelmed in a situation like this. I dunno about Jack, though. I'll buy that he was driven mad with grief, but he lost too many of his other traits and seemed more like an angry OC who took Jack's place.

That said, the way all the characters interacted was just beautiful. Nobody had inhumanly good communication skills that magically straightened out of the problems and they weren't completely stupid, either.

So I'm just going to wrap up this whole pretentious review here. This was really good, really well done, and really refreshing after reading a bunch of similar fics.

tldr: 10/10, would read again
HTTYDGuest chapter 7 . 11/3/2017
Danny reads FANFICTION in GhostWriter's library? (Does he even have computers in his library?)
;) Nice touch.

Misaratis chapter 10 . 8/21/2017
I was really surprised at how much I came to enjoy this story, I went in to it thinking it would be yet another typical crossover with the typical Phantom fandom levels of angst. An entertaining time waster. But you really surprised me in the nest of ways.
You handled the absuse elegantly. It was believable. It was hard, and ultimately it was sad, which is often how it works in the real world.
And also I wasn't expecting Danny's anointment in the least. I'm not such a huge fan of King Danny arcs either, but this one felt appropriate somehow. Like that wasn't the goal of the story, to make Danny some ultra super powered king tyrant, but rather he seemed a young victim of circumstance. And handled his responsibilities as well as sixteen year old in his position could be expected to. There were flaws in the story, initially it all seemed a little put on, and Danny's relationship with Kack didn't seem entirely genuine. But like I said, you really pulled through in the end. And frankly the aftermath in term of their emotions more than makes up for the fact that it seemed just a touch stilted right at the start.
Anyway, I've been writing for way too long, just wanted to say one last time that you did a really really good job. I'll probably return to have another read in a couple years or so.
