Yes, Raoul goes through hell and high water for Christine - quite literally, which always raised a wry smile :-)

(The final image of Christine feeling guilty for being in love with a monster jars for me, though; the final scene in Leroux feels more... holy than that, and I don't see Christine being ashamed of purity and compassion...)
