Awesome to see another update to this story, and whilst this might seem weird to suggest a pairing for this type of story can I suggest toyohisa gets with villetta nu, Dr chawla, Cornelia or cc, ones a female warrior who he can respect, a weapons designer after his own heart, a fellow commander who cares for those under her command, and a fellow individual out of time. Hardly much stuff happens with those characters to make them more fleshed out besides cc and interactions with toyohisa would be interesting. Also how is the story going to diverge from canon? In the manga nobunaga sees toyohisa as a way to make up for his mistrust in his son and wants to make him king because of it, I doubt he's going to let lelouch become the next king let alone the leader. Most likely he would make him a strategist under his pseudonym. But either way there will be some major changes to a whole bunch of events in canon and toyohisa is going to be in the middle of it. Really looking forward to where this goes next m8, update soon!

This is interesting but Oda presence makes Lelouch involvement with this side of the rebellion largely irrelevant. Your portray of Oda put him as even more cunning than our prince and he is undoubtedly more ruthless. Lelouch should go on his way to do something more productive as take over the government in secret with geass until reach Cornelia, make her loyal to him and get his answer then turn his sights into the mainland.

Otherwise we have a fic where Lelouch do the same as Canon but with Oda looming over him.

Lelouch can win a hand if he interrogates Kallen after she receives the call and learns 'Oda-sama' already suspect him and he does something about it. The two of them should act separately.

Btw, Oda seems like a Mary-sue.

Lelouch conversation with Kallen will expose him that much is certain.

Also I think Lelouch's eyes should be useless against Oda . Its already proved that mind control geass is half useful against those with stronger then user's will . Nunnaly and Euphemia are example of it . And unfortunately, even guy like Lelouch just unable to influence person of will , cunning and intelligence like Oda Nobunaga .

Huh, now that's a scary smart idea. Makes me wonder what Lelouch will be like after being groomed by Oda Nobunaga. Though that's assuming events won't unfold in a way which creates an insurmountable barrier between them. Hope Oda's decision to have Yoichi make the call doesn't cause any problems. That said, there is the odd question of timing. Would the call be made before, during, or after Lelouch tries to Geass Interrogate Kallen? Pretty sure "after" runs the risk of events being mostly the same. I doubt "during" would be a good thing even if Lelouch maintains eye contact. The interruption might create complications that could see Kallen becoming violent and killing Lelouch, in theory. Of course it is possible that receiving the call beforehand might have Kallen directing Lelouch to someplace quieter that doesn't run the risk of them being seen by many students looking out the school window.

On the one hand, I'm inclined to ask what sort of plan Oda might come up with to see Suzaku freed from the farce that he'll be dragged through. On the other hand, hindsight makes me think Oda wouldn't even bother unless he could get the real culprit to confess publicly so as to make everyone know that Suzaku was innocent. Not only would that make the Purist Faction look bad, but it would also protect the Honorary Britannian system. Still, the fact Lelouch intends to do just that and recruit the Kozuki group for the job would give Oda an opportunity to contribute. Exactly what contributions he could and would make to the rescue leaves me feeling curious.

Plus, there's the question of whether or not Oda would get a chance to talk with Suzaku and puzzle out the truth of Genbu's death. Probably wouldn't take him long to figure out Lelouch and eventually meet Nunnally. While I'm not sure on why the latter came to mind, the fact remains that it's followed by the mental image of Oda saying he understands Lelouch. That's not to say they'd blindly trust each other, but still.
