I agree with Molly. He meant it. He does love Molly or he wouldn't have been so desperate to save her life by pleading with her to say "I love you". But to what degree is another question. He definitely loves her as a friend. He has come a long way since he first met John and allowed him to guide him about human nature. He's trying...even if he still doesn't always get it right. :,)
