Hi, i am really loving this story. You're story is well written and engaging. I enjoy reading from both Moana's and Maui's perspective; and love seeing how their love develop. The addition of your new charictors leads to more possibilities. The cliffhanger you've left the story hanging from is killing me lol Please update soon and reunite Maui-Demigod of the Wind and Sea, Hero of Men and Chieftess Moana's one true Love xo

Ahhhh I love this story! Angst! And politics! And action! And of course, romance! So exciting!

The maui having committed suicide in the past was dark but it felt very in character for this story.

In the movie, Maui did mention to moana " im not killing myself" by fighting te ka, which means he at least believed that it was a possibility ... and him facing te ka after his hook broke, is sort of undermined as a heroic act if he's only anticipating great pain and regeneration instead of oblivion. Plus the original legendary maui was able to die, although some versions have him tricking his way back out of the underworld afterwards. Maybe he thought he could be killed if it was a god-like being doing it? And he seemed fearful enough of dying when tamatoa tried to eat him...maybe not even his regenerative powers can stand up to digestive acids... of course maybe its just that he is capable of being killed but it would require such a powerful effort to do so, nothing any human could contrive would do the trick and hes only truly afraid when facing the supernatural?

I hate to bring it up, because your interpetation of his immortality is so dramatic and works so well in the narrative, but I can't help my obnoxious fangirl self from pointing it out.

I love aka's free spirit so much and I love the hints that maybe maui and aka are gonna end up caring for each other more than they realise...which makes more delicous, delicious angst. Polyamory anyone?

Oh man mauis fanclub is gonna be so jealous if they find out aka been sleeping with maui...

Oh gosh! At first I wasnt sure what to make of aka's character, thinking shed be just a catalyst to maui realising he loved moana and then be relegated to a background character, maybe showing up in time to Give moana a similar revelation...but oh boy am I glad to be wrong! You gave her such a depth of feeling that my heart ached in sympathy! (And jealousy, for being able to fuck maui when I cannot lol)

Oh god mauis pining for moana is just so damn delicious, and him trying to do "stress relief" with aka is the kind of sexy angst I'm such a sucker for. Great job!

Hey, I love that you keep writing. I read all the chapters up to the 36th in one evening and was eagerly waiting for the 37th, so thank you for the update.

I am just soo disappointed by the same thing AkumakoRonso is, that Moana let herself be led by the circumstances and didn't attempt to take matters in her own hands, as she is known for doing in even unfamiliar situations. She is fleeing, leaving Maui behind, and I consider this a low-point of hers... I just hope she will finally stop being pushed around - that she didn't know what she was doing never stopped her before.

And also, I can't get over my contempt for what Maui has done. I kind of get your explanation for his "affair" but to me it is just it. An affair. A betrayal of something that was between Maui and Moana. This innocent, slow-growing buds of love. And he hadn't embraced his feelings and waited for her to catch up, but covered it up in the worst, most unreasonable possible way.

I make no criticism to your writing, which is awesome, well-styled and well-paced, with an engaging plot, but the characters have made some frustrating choices is all.

So sorry for the rant, though if I were Moana, I would be pissed at Maui, when I'd found what he'd done, and at Aka, for messing with his mind, and using him in an attempt to soothe her own pain. Actually, that was pretty vile of her, despite the fact that she had asked for Moana's permission. Technically she did, but she should have been perspective enough to recognize that there was a fragile and beautiful feeling being born between them and she selfishly stepped into it. She 'trod heavily on their dreams' and I am just so horrified by what we will find got crushed in the process. And Maui! So much in love, yet so stupid and so quick to take Aka up on her offer. The emotional ballast is going to weight them down :( and I can't wait to see it and fear it at the same time. This is so going to pull the strings of my heart - the best metaphor for what happens when I witness such drama, so what if borrowed ;p.

I ran out of the bottled up feelings in regards to what has happened in your story up till now ;d, so thank you so much again, and see you later around the next chapter.

PS The exploration of self-harm and suicidal thoughts Maui experienced while trapped on that island is awakening and surprising, because it is rare to take into account Maui's human side so much, and also completely not-surprising, 'cause of course this could've happened. IMHO it makes this story so much more realistic in a humane way, though I get some Twilight vibes which is not good, let's not kid ourselves ;p. Well, not your fault someone used the same theme in a bad vampire harlequin.

If I was sitting down, this would have kept me on the edge of my seat. I'm kinda disappointed in Moana's reaction to violence of the guards, cuz I know she was pretty badass when fighting against Tamatoa, and then to have her react that way against the guards was kinda disappointing. And then the same in the jail, where in contrast she found her own way out of Maui's cave.

Still, I look forward to the next update. I need the coming war resolved and fluffer loving between Maui and Moana.
