Reviews for Why Did It Have To Be Fairies?

I love this idea. It's quite cool to actually see the Hoenn Elite 4 in a fanfiction, let alone Sidney, who many consider to be the most forgettable member. I'd love if you could continue this story. Cheers

Wow that was so good I feel like this should actually be a plot in a Pokemon Anime or something, Great job.

Dear Izzyaro:

This isn't a fandom I know anything about, but I just wanted to ask if the thought that automatically went through my head on seeing the title was one that you *meant* to inspire, or just a happy accident.

"Lamia! Very dangerous!… You go first."

Sincerely,
Qoheleth

*Smiles sweetly and nods in agreement* I will admit, you DO make a rather compelling point m'dear, especially since in the games having over four moves sure would've come in-handy in both gym battles AND taking on the members of the Elite Four(man, those guys were tough even though I've played Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon Sun, and Pokemon Sun so far). Kind of like how I think that Charizard should be able to learn Draco Metoeor, I mean think about it, their able to learn moves like Dragon claw & Dragon tail, so I figured the hell with it!

But I don't see Sidney's all worked up about though, they're just Fairy types is all! Besides, I actually kind of LIKE Fairy types because they're really cute but at the same time dangerous too, which can folks a false sense of security but that's just what I like about 'em.

Speaking of which... Are you by any chance going to be making a sequel to this one-shot of yours? 'Cause I think that it'd be really interesting to see the members of the Hoenn Elite Four taking a trip to Alola, especially if they end up meeting the members of the Alolan Elite Four!

And besides the mentioned Pokemon that they'll end up catching & bringing with 'em, I would to see Phobebe also catch a Sandyghast(dual ground & ghost-type) & an Alolan Marowak(dual fire & ghost-type) alongside Mimikyu. For Glacia then I think that she should totally catch both an Alolan Sandshrew(dual ice & steel-type) AND Alolan Vulpix( which evolves into an Alolan Ninetailes, which is a dual ice & fairy-type just to pass Sidney off). For Drake the only Pokemon that I could see him catching in Alola would be an Alolan Exegguetor(dual grass & dragon-type) and for Sidney, besides him capturing a Litten(which in its final evolutionary form finally becomes part Dark-type when it evolves into Incineroar), he could also catch an Alolan Meowth AND an Alolan Ratticate!

So for now my dear, that is all I have to say for now, so for I bid you Aidu~!

Ha, this was a fun read. Poor Sidney, although I can sympathize as someone who took a break from the games and came back to this brand new type. I had to relearn resistances all over again. I was half expecting Steven's new teammate to be his Carbink in the ORAS champion rematch battle, but very funny that he ended up getting a new Fairy teammate too.

I will say this wasn't the easiest read, however. With so many players in the story all at once, some of the dialogue was not clear as to who way saying what. The banter works from a story point of view, but it wasn't obvious who was bantering with whom some of the time. I think you also made a goof at the beginning by writing "Steven" instead of "Sidney" as the speaker of some dialogue, which made it a bit confusing when Steven actually showed up later in the story.

Aside from that, it was a great little light-hearted read featuring some of my favorite characters. Thanks for sharing!
