Oh, so our destination is Konoha? I thought we we're going to Sunagakure but, thinking things through, it does make sense to try and find Kushina in her own home than trying your luck at tracking her elsewhere.
It's always a bit sad, but also utterly adorable how Inuyasha tries - and utterly fails at - not to feel positive...well...feelings because of the people see through his gruff and rude demeanor.

I think I'll check back on a story in a year or three; the chapters are just too short to really hold my attention; I'm done when I feel like it should just be getting started and I'm left feeling dissatisfied. If I have a couple dozen to binge, I imagine I wouldn't feel that way.

You had my curiosity...then quickly garnared my amusement. Just as fast you had my interest. Now...well now you have my full attention.

I adore what you have here already.
As far as I'm concerned, known characters (Inu, Kushina, even Mifune) are more than enough in character to be recognizable, while OCs we spend more time with (like Orimori and now Hotaru) are endearing enough for me to actually care about them.
At first, I didn't think this drabble structure would work (first time reading something like this) and, honestly, I would probably have missed it completely were I to find it during the first few chapters...but each chapter has enough story and progression to keep me hooked.
You know, Inuyasha is hurting deeply right now...but that somehow just make it all the more adorable when he tries to deny taking a liking to people or that people can enjoy being with him.

I'm not really clear though, how young is his body right now? Younger than 10 I assume and, if so, for him to be able to take out multiple high level chunin...wow. It does seem he kept a bit of his dog-demon traits, even if greatly diminished, which is nice.

Anyway, followed and favorited. I'm definitely looking forward for more. :)

Also HOW can she not understand her father's hatred after stating her knowledge of Konoha's abandonment? With the life she's survived so far the concept shouldn't be hard to grasp. Konoha and her home village were friends and allies. Her village came under trouble. And Konoha, despite its promise to help in times of need, did fuck all which allowed for so many of them to die. Which means Konoha effectively betrayed and abandoned your family when they were supposed to help.

I love that Inuyasha is still just like: I'll find a way home or die trying. Fuck Kagome's claims. And how appropriately unbothered he was with the death of a no named apparently brainwashed child that tried to kill him. Indifference towards someone who attempts to kill him for no good reason is a stance I can get behind.(I say no good reason specifically cuz he become fond of Sango even tho she tried to kill him when they met under the belief he slaughtered her village)
